Home and School Fall Fundraiser in its FINAL WEEK!
We currently stand at $22,000 with only a few days to go!
We are thrilled to announce that thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we have officially surpassed our Fall Fundraiser goal! With this final week remaining, we are excited to see just how far we can go.
A massive thank you goes out to all of our students and families for setting up donation pages, sharing them with friends and family, and helping us raise critical direct funds for Lincoln Home and School. Contributions have come in from 36 states nationwide—a true testament to the power of our Lincoln community!
This week was packed with fun as students enjoyed "pieing" the principals, both as enthusiastic audience members and expert throwers! But the excitement isn't over yet: our next milestone goal is $30,000, and if we hit it, Assistant Principal Mr. Harper has agreed to shave his beard!
Let’s get there, Lancers!

8th Grade Families - Please review information about World Classic Language
Dear 8th grade Lincoln Families,
We hope you are having a wonderful school year! The Lincoln Administration and the World & Classical Languages (WCL) team are reaching out to share important details regarding coursework and grading for our 8th-grade WCL students.
As a reminder, the end of the junior high first trimester is Friday, November 6th, and report cards will be available for families on Tuesday, November 17th. Because your child is currently enrolled in a high school-level World & Classical Languages course, please keep the following information in mind:
Semester Grading Schedule: High school courses follow a semester grading schedule, so WCL grades are deferred until the end of the semester and will not appear on the Trimester 1 report cards.
Viewing Report Cards: Final posted grades are placed on a separate report card under the High School Credit Calendar. Parents will need to toggle between the JH Calendar and HS Credit Calendar to access these separate report cards on the Parent Portal.
Course Drop Window: If your family decides not to continue and would like to drop the WCL course, that change must be made during the Trimester 1 to Trimester 2 window. Otherwise, all students will remain enrolled for the entire school year.
High School Placement Note: Please note that all students who complete Level 1 Spanish or French in 8th grade are not eligible to retake Level 1 Spanish or French during their freshman year of high school.
Next Steps & Questions:
Academic Progress: If you have questions about your child's progress in their language class, we encourage you to reach out directly to their teacher.
Dropping the Course: If you decide as a family that you would like to drop the WCL course, please contact Mrs. Fleury (8th-grade Counselor) and Mrs. Cap (Principal) right away so we can process these adjustments before the trimester ends on November 6th.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to us directly. Thank you for your continued partnership!
eLearning Updates for the 2026/2027 School Year:
Dear Parents & Guardians,
Through a recent Talk203, you received an email from Naperville 203 regarding the approval of the district’s e-Learning plan. e-Learning will provide our students with a continuation of learning on days when we are unable to open its school buildings. Students will receive at least five hours of asynchronous instruction or school work through their Canvas or Google Classroom account.
Support From Teachers
Staff members are available from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. to respond to students' needs. Communication methods may include: Email, Canvas/Google Classroom and Google Meet, among others. Teachers will hold a morning, synchronous session to check in, answer questions, and get students up and running for the day. Teachers will also hold two synchronous check in sessions for students during the day. Teachers will communicate these times on Canvas or Google Classroom. Teachers will also be available throughout the day to answer questions and communicate with students as needed through email. Students will be given assignments aligned to current learning progression and goals, which can be found on Canvas or Google Classroom.
Teachers will check on the completion of necessary e-Learning assignments
Teachers will provide students with extended time, as needed to complete assignments
Attendance
The State of Illinois recognizes e-Learning days as regular attendance days, thus they will not need to be made up. Naperville 203 will use e-Learning days in lieu of emergency days, which were previously used for emergency school closings.
Parents should follow the same absent attendance process as regular school days.
Call the school if your student is sick and unable to participate in the e-Learning day
Students will be considered present unless excused by parent/guardian
All absences should be called in by 9 a.m.
Tech Support
In preparation for the possibility of an e-Learning day, students will bring their devices and other technology tools that day. For all tech support please click HERE.
In the event of an e-Learning day, whether scheduled ahead of time or not, Lincoln will send direct communication to families with instructions and reminders the day of as well. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Lincoln administration. Thank you for your continued support.

Safety at Arrival/Dismissal
Dear Lincoln Jr. High Families,
The safety and well-being of our students is always our highest priority. We are writing to share an immediate concern regarding student arrival and dismissal procedures, and to ask for your partnership in keeping our community safe.
Recently, we have seen a concerning increase in unsafe car and pedestrian traffic around the school. Specifically, students are being dropped off or picked up outside of our designated parent lines, and students are crossing main streets outside of marked crosswalks or cutting through active parking lots.
Our largest fear—and the sole reason for this message—is that these habits could lead to property damage or serious injury. Please understand that when staff members step in to redirect families or students, it comes entirely from a place of care, concern, and a desire to protect our kids.
To help ensure everyone gets to and from school safely, we ask that all families adhere strictly to our established routines:
Use Designated Parent Lines: Always drop off and pick up students within the designated zones. Avoid dropping off students along busy roads or in unapproved areas.
Stick to Crosswalks: Remind your child to cross main streets only at marked crosswalks and to follow staff and traffic signals.
Follow NPD Guidelines: Please review the attached Naperville Police Department Traffic Flow guidelines for detailed directions on navigating the area around the school.
We have reached out to the Naperville Police Department for additional support and traffic monitoring to help manage congestion during peak hours. However, keeping our streets safe requires effort from all of us.
Thank you for your cooperation, patience, and commitment to protecting our Lincoln Jr. High students.
Minga - Digital Hall Pass System
Lincoln will continue using Minga, our digital hall pass system, to support student safety and classroom management. As a reminder, our students use Minga to create hall passes when they need to leave class for routine destinations like the restroom or locker. They then check in with their teacher before leaving the classroom with a physical pass.
To keep you informed, Minga will now send parents/guardians a weekly email summary of their child's total pass usage. This new feature is designed to support our ongoing focus on executive functioning skills—specifically self-management, preparedness, and making the most of designated passing periods so students arrive to class with everything they need. If you ever have questions or concerns about your child's pass usage, please feel free to reach out directly to their teacher or administration for support.
A Note on Fidgets:
We want to share a quick reminder regarding fidgets and classroom focus.
While fidgets are wonderful tools to support focus and engagement, certain personal items—such as NeeDohs, Tech Decks (finger skateboards), and larger toys—often cause the opposite effect. They can lead to significant classroom distractions, property damage if broken, or lost items.
Moving forward, we ask that these specific items be kept at home. To support our students, we actively encourage fidget use and fully provide appropriate options in the classroom. If your child chooses to bring a personal fidget from home, please help us ensure it is discreet and supports learning rather than distracting from it.
If students bring unapproved items to school, they will be kept in the main office for a parent or guardian to pick up at the end of the day. Thank you for your partnership and support in maintaining a focused, positive learning environment for all students.
Attendance & Early Dismissals
Absences
If a student is to be absent or late to school, the parent or guardian must call the school's absence line before 7:45AM at (630) 420-3881. You may also use the Online Absence Center. Both options are open 24 hours a day and recorded messages can be left anytime before 7:45AM.
Early Dismissals
1. Use the Online Absence Center. All prescheduled appointments should be entered by 7:45AM the day of. A pass will be given to the student to come to the office at that time. All passes are given out at 8:00AM each morning. A parent/guardian must come into the building to sign the student out.
OR
2. The day of dismissal, send a note with your student indicating what time you need to pick him/her up and the reason for leaving. Your child will bring the note to the main office before 8:00AM. The same procedure for obtaining a pass, as outlined in the first option, will be followed.
OR
3. Call the office, 630.420.6370.
Students Riding Bus Home with Other Students
Guidelines from the Transportation Department
Both students must be regular bus riders. This applies whether they ride the same bus or different buses.
A written note from each student’s parent/guardian is required. The note must also include a stamp or verification from the Main Office confirming that the school is aware of and has approved the arrangement. This approval needs to be confirmed at the school level.
The driver must receive the final approved note. This ensures all required permissions have been properly documented before the students ride together.
Attendance Matters at Lincoln
As recently highlighted September is National Attendance Awareness Month and share why consistent attendance and on-time arrival are so critical at Lincoln. Being present every day gives students full access to daily learning, builds strong classroom communities, and helps foster meaningful connections with peers and staff.
Improving and maintaining consistent student attendance remains a key goal in our School Improvement Plan. Our team will closely monitor attendance throughout the year and offer tailored support and resources to families whenever needed to help remove barriers.
Please keep the following guidelines in mind regarding attendance reporting:
Reporting Absences: All absences, regardless of the reason, must be reported through our Attendance Hotline or Infinite Campus.
Include a Reason: Illinois state guidelines require us to code absences specifically. Please ensure you provide a reason for the absence when you log it or call it in.
Unexcused Absence Outreach: If a student is absent and we have not received notification from a parent or guardian, our staff will reach out to verify their whereabouts.
Team Support: If we notice a pattern of missing school or tardiness, members of our counseling, health office, or administration teams will reach out to families directly. We want to partner with you to offer resources and build a plan for consistent daily attendance.
Thank you for your partnership in making daily, on-time attendance a priority for your child. If you have any questions regarding attendance guidelines or reporting procedures, please do not hesitate to contact our main office.
Food and Drink Reminders and Updates
As a reminder due to allergies and our student needs, we ask that no outside food be brought to share at lunch. If food is dropped off or delivered, it must only be for your child; nothing should be brought or purchased for a lunch table or large group. This ensures the safety of all our students.
Please be advised that students are only allowed in the building before school (beginning at 7:40am) if they are purchasing and eating Organic Life breakfast in the cafeteria. Outside food and beverages are not allowed to be consumed in the building before school begins but can be stored away in the student's lunchbox to consume during lunch. That includes but is not limited to coffee drinks, energy drinks, and soda. Students coming to school with these open items will have to consume them outside the building or throw them away upon entry to the school. The only outside beverage that students can have throughout the school day in the classroom is water.
Forgotten Items & Junior High Protocols: Building Independence
As we settle into the rhythm of a new school year, morning routines can sometimes feel like a race against the clock. We know that in the rush to get out the door, items like instruments, Chromebooks, lunch, or assignments occasionally get left behind.
To help our students transition smoothly into junior high, here is how we handle dropped-off items—and how you can help us foster student responsibility and independence.
Calling Home: If a student realizes they forgot a necessary item, they are always welcome to use the front office phone to call home and see if a family member is available to bring it.
Front Office Drop-Off Window: When an item is brought to school, it will be placed at the front office window for student pickup.
The Junior High Difference: Unlike elementary school, we do not interrupt class time or call classrooms directly when an item arrives. This policy minimizes classroom disruptions and gives students the opportunity to practice independence.
Checking Between Classes: If you let your child know you are dropping an item off, please remind them that it is their responsibility to check the front office window during passing periods or lunch to retrieve it.
Thank you for partnering with us as we guide our students toward greater self-reliance and build routines that stick!
