11th Annual Upstate Splash Charity Open Water Swim at Lake Jocassee
Thank you to all of our sponsors, volunteers and swimmers!
Coaches Message
Greenville Splash has been super busy this fall. We continue to be amazed by all of our swimmers and their athletic feats. Read all about it in the section below called Splashing Accomplishments. Our biggest announcement this month is that Barbara Eisele broke the National USMS Record for the 200 IM in the 95-99 age group! Barbara inspires people from all walks of life and around the entire country. She is now famous on Facebook with her latest feat of athleticism. We couldn't be more proud of her!
Greenville Splash hosted the Upstate Splash Charity Open Water Swim this past September. It was our 11th event! We had 200 swimmers come from all over the southeast to swim either 1.2 or 2.4 miles at Lake Jocassee. Upstate Splash is an all volunteer charity and the proceeds directly impact groups in our community. We give back to our partners to provide swim lessons for children and adults that are in need. Our mission is to prevent childhood drowning and raise awareness of water safety. We plan to continue to work with Aqua Angels and look forward to providing swim lessons to children with special needs this coming year.
Greenville Splash was thrilled to be featured in the June edition of Town Carolina Magazine! Check out our article and pictures below, click to page 59.
Send Leslie results and pictures of your events for our next newsletter. Feel free to email Coach Leslie at greenvillesplash@gmail.com or give me a call if you need any help with anything: 864-283-1328.

We are beyond proud of Steve Leitch! Steve completed the North Channel Swim (One of the Ocean's Seven) this August. The swim is from Northern Ireland to Scotland. The distance is 35K (21 miles) and his time was 12:50:21. He described this swim as 10 hours of fun and 3 hours of survival. He also completed the Tsugaru Straight in Japan in June. (One of the Ocean's Seven). he swam19.8 miles in 10 hours, fighting cold, current, and fatigue across one of the toughest open-water swims on Earth. Only 57 people have completed this swim. He does the swims to raise awareness and money for those that are overcoming addiction.
