Dear BES Families,
A huge thank you to our PTO for such a fun week! They do so much for us and our students and we are so very thankful. Random Acts of Kindness Week was incredible and the effects are ongoing! We love to see our students passing on the kindness, each and every day.
This Saturday we have a really fun event...actually 2 events at Broadmoor! From 8-10, we will have a character breakfast with all the stars from the upcoming LHS musical, Seussical! Bring your family to have breakfast with Cat in the Hat, Horton, the Lorax, and more! It is going to be so much fun!! Then that evening, we will be hosting the PTO's Night to Remember. Information is below!
Our new One School, One Story chapter questions are below. Keep watching Facebook for the latest ones and remember...each online post earns your child one ticket in our end-of-story prize drawing!
We have one more week of roller skating, don't forget the socks!

Sign-up to Help Lace Up Roller Skates!
We are excited for our upcoming roller skating unit! Please consider signing up to help with lacing the skates so kids can get going quickly during their PE time! The slots are organized by the times classes visit PE. For the 1 hour slots, you will help 2 classes at the beginning and then they'll switch out with 2 more classes. Thank you for volunteering - many hands help get the kids up and rolling!

Dear families and caregivers,
It’s GOTR time! The countdown is on! Girls on the Run kicks off on March 9th, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome your child to an unforgettable season of growth, fun, and empowerment!
Like the past programs, Hello, Superstar! explores core topics relevant to 3rd- 5th grade participants such as:
- Navigating emotions
- Expressing empathy
- Standing up for oneself and others
Using the same innovative, evidence-based blend of group discussions, movement-based games, and social-emotional skill-building activities, Hello, Superstar! places additional emphasis on helping girls love and embrace their uniqueness. In just the past two years, both the CDC and U.S. Surgeon General reported depression and anxiety are at an all-time high for young people, especially girls. In response, we’ve designed new lessons to help participants manage big emotions, build relationships, and ensure all teammates feel like they belong. The program your family knows, loves and trusts is back -- enhanced and equipped to meet the exact needs of today's girls. Will your Superstar be joining us for a season truly unlike any other?

Attendance and School Calendar
Please take note of our school calendars when planning your family's vacations.
Attendance is a focus at BES and we want your children at school! It can be very difficult for students to get caught up sometimes when they miss for extended periods of time. For example, when a student misses a week of school, that is up to 450 minutes of math instruction they are missing!
If your family does have a trip planned, we do not provide lessons or materials ahead of those trips. Teachers will work with you to schedule times when your student can be given that instruction and guided work time to ensure mastery of skills. This may have to happen before or after school, but we will also try to work during the school day as well.
GREAT school habits now help prepare students for future success!
