The Buzz

Apologies for the delayed Buzz this week, RVS families - I needed to be out today and am just getting to it! We are grateful to (hopefully!) have buses with no interruptions this week, and are looking forward to an amazing Crankie show with Meredith Holch tomorrow. Families stopping by RVS have probably noticed our new addition to the playground - snow mountain! Big thanks to our snow removal folks for recognizing what the kids would truly appreciate! We continue to make excellent use of our new sleds from the PTO, and kids were also able to enjoy some good old fashioned "sliding" without sleds on Forest Friday. We are making the most of the sun!! ☀️ As you have heard from Superintendent Libby Bonesteel, we will again return to the budgeting conversation as a result of further action from the legislature on Act 127: those interested in listening or participating can attend in person at MHS, virtually via the zoom link (see below in board meeting section) or watch afterwards via our website.

• Winter break is coming up from 2/26 - 3/4. The last day of school will be a full day on Friday, 2/23.

We are excited to welcome Meredith Holch to RVS on the morning of February 6th to engage our students in the classic practice of storytelling through the use of a crankie machine. Thanks to the Roxbury Free Library for helping us bring this program to RVS!

• High Mowing seed fundraiser forms are going home today. Please let us know if you did not receive one. 60% of the proceeds will go directly to our school activities. Checks can be made out to the Roxbury Village School PTO and put in the attached envelope . Please return forms along with full payment to Tina no later than Tuesday, February 20th, 2024.

The HOPE Coalition has been in contact to share with the Roxbury community that they are providing support in the form of relief supplies, clothing, fresh produce and shelf-stable foods, all at no cost. They are located at 297 Vine Street in Berlin and are open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1-4PM. Folks seeking more info can visit www.hopecoalition.net.

All regularly scheduled meetings begin at 6:30pm. Board Members will either be participating virtually or in-person. This meeting will be held at RVS.
