BE MENTALLY PREPARED FOR DELAYS...It's OK. Things Will Smooth Out! BE MENTALLY PREPARED FOR DELAYS...It's OK. Things Will Smooth Out!

Expect and plan for DELAYS and IMPERFECTIONS with transportation. Whether your child will ride the bus or whether you are dropping him/her off and picking him/her up, it will take a few days before the balance of the daily routine will smooth things out. BUT things will smooth out! They do every year! Please keep this in mind ahead of time. It will save you and your child some stress and anxiety.

As Stated in Previous Newsletters, Use the Stopfinder App...

Did you download the Stopfinder app? If so, did you receive a Stopfinder invitation email for this year? If not, did you check your junk/spam folder for the invitation? If so, and you still don’t find the bus info, contact transportation via the information below.

PLAN AHEAD AND PLAN WISELY IF NEEDED

At this point, if you have been unable to confirm transportation, it would be wise to have a PLAN B. As I stated in the previous newsletter, ALL TRANSPORATION ISSUES WILL BE WORKED OUT, but if you don't have confirmation at this point, having a backup plan to get your child to school can save stress and anxiety, especially for your child on the first day of school.

If Needed, Schedules Will Be Corrected, So Don't Fret! If Needed, Schedules Will Be Corrected, So Don't Fret!

Schedule correction forms will be available in the first days of school.

With approximately 1,000 students all having 7 periods, there are approximately 7,700 sections for which the counselors are scheduling. A large majority are correct, and the counseling team is working hard to get everything correct. There will be correction forms available to students for errors in the first days of school, and we ask your patience as corrections are made. By the end of this week (or before), everything will be straightened out.

7th & 8th Graders Should Bring Their Laptops to See Their Schedules! 7th & 8th Graders Should Bring Their Laptops to See Their Schedules!

QVMS is NOT printing schedules for every student, so 7th and 8th graders may bring their laptops to view their schedules throughout the day.

QVMS will print copies of schedules for 6th grade students! QVMS will print copies of schedules for 6th grade students!

Since incoming 6th graders have not yet received their laptops, QVMS will print copies that will be handed out in the morning.

QVMS will run a special DAY ONE schedule on Tuesday, August 11th. QVMS will run a special DAY ONE schedule on Tuesday, August 11th.

STUDENTS WILL BEGIN IN SECOND PERIOD AND REMAIN THERE FOR BEGINNING OF THE YEAR INFORMATION.

Students will report to the areas below when they enter school. In these areas, they will sit by the name of their 2nd period teacher. THERE WILL BE LISTS POSTED IN EACH AREA SO STUDENTS WILL KNOW WHO THEIR 2ND PERIOD TEACHER IS IF THEY DON'T HAVE THEIR SCHEDULES. Their second period teacher will then meet them in their area and accompany them to class.
  • Grade 6 > Practice Gym
  • Grade 7 > Competition Gym
  • Grade 8 > Commons
After an extended second period and after lunch, students will then walk through a short meet-the-teacher schedule where they walk to their other class periods and stay in each class for a shortened amount of time. QVMS staff will be visible and present to help students find their classes.
