It's Happening! ....our Big School Fundraiser
Kindness Fundraiser Begins September 14th!
Our Kindness Fundraiser is simple: students ask friends and family to support our school while they pay it forward through acts of kindness that reflect our core values—Exploration, Joy, Rigor, Justice, and Growth. It’s fully online, takes minutes to set up, and 95% of every dollar goes straight to Lyons Farm to meet real needs in our growing community. No selling. No money to collect. More details coming soon!
What's Next?
Phase #2:
I plan to engage with our school’s Team Leaders to look more closely at these themes and identify next steps that are both responsive to what we heard and manageable within our school’s context. My goal is to share a Phase #2 update within the next couple of months. Again, thank you to everyone who shared feedback through our End-of-Year Community Feedback Survey & especially to those who took additional time to join us for these deeper conversations. Your feedback matters, and our next step is to determine how we can turn what we heard into action.
AM Traffic Pattern
- Pre-K through 2nd graders should be dropped off in front of the school (Purple Route).3rd through
- 5th graders should be dropped off near the big field (Orange Route).
- 3rd through 5th graders may exit in front with their Pre-K through 2nd grade sibling(s).
Transportation Information:
School Communication Application
Families are free to download the application. If the app is not downloaded, messages can still be shared with families via SMS. Teachers will send invitations as their DPS email accounts become available. Click below for additional TalkingPoints information.
IMPORTANT
...thanks for your patience
As teachers start receiving their DPS email address, you will receive an invite. We hope this happens this week for those families that have not received a TalkingPoints Message yet.
This year, morning carpool will begin at 7:20 AM.
This 5 minute adjustment allows all staff members to be in place and fully prepared before students begin entering the building, helping us ensure a safe, smooth, and Welcoming start to each school day.
Please plan for your child to exit their car right at 7:20 AM--if you are using the morning carpool line.
After School Program Option: M/W/F
The Drum Together program this year will run Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from the end of school until 5:00PM. All grade levels will participate together! We will drum, dance, and play, as well as have a 15-minute block for homework, reading, or coloring (depending on grade level). A snack will be provided. There is a full semester package (August 31 - December 18th) which includes all 38 sessions. There are one-day-a-week plans and also an option to pay one class at a time. The program will not run on early release days. In the event of a snow day, a refund will be issued for that day. I am very much looking forward to seeing all the progress students make, drumming and learning together, as well as possible performances!
