The Power of Attendance: 5 Reasons Why High School Attendance Matters
Dear Franklin Families,
In high school, attendance is one of the strongest predictors of academic and personal success. Every day matters, and here are five reasons why your high schooler should make school a priority:
-
Grades & Credits – Missing classes often leads to lower grades and can even put graduation credits at risk.
-
College & Career Opportunities – Colleges and employers notice attendance patterns. Consistent presence shows responsibility.
-
Active Participation – Discussions, labs, and group projects can’t be “made up” with homework alone.
-
Teacher Relationships – Daily interaction with teachers builds mentorship and stronger support for future recommendations.
-
Life Skills – Showing up every day develops discipline, accountability, and resilience—skills needed for college, careers, and beyond.
Attendance is not just about being in the building; it’s about being present for opportunities that shape the future. Let’s encourage our Panthers to take every day seriously.
Sincerely,
Sergio Delgado, your proud principal
Fun Fact
Did you know that students who miss just two days of school each month end up missing nearly an entire school year by the time they graduate! Regular attendance isn’t just about being present—it’s the key to long-term academic success and strong lifelong habits.

Reminder: Early Dismissal Policy
Until 1:55 PM
Dear Franklin 'Ohana,
This is a friendly reminder that early dismissal for students is permitted every school day only until 1:55 PM. After this time, we cannot accommodate early sign-outs, as our staff and students are transitioning into dismissal procedures for the day.
We ask that you plan accordingly if your child has an appointment or needs to leave school early. Dismissing students after 1:55 PM creates disruptions to the end-of-day routines and compromises the safety and efficiency of our dismissal process.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and orderly school environment.

Dear Families,
We’re so excited to partner with you in supporting your child through our ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) program!
📚 What is the ESOL Program?
The ESOL program is designed to support students who are learning English as an additional language. We help students grow in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English, all while celebrating and honoring their home languages and cultures.
👩🏫 How Do We Support Your Child?
Your child receives personalized support in several ways, including:
Small group instruction in English
In-class support from trained teachers
Access to Imagine Learning, an online program with fun, interactive English practice
Regular progress checks and annual assessments
💻 Imagine Learning
Imagine Learning is a powerful online tool that helps students strengthen their English skills through games, activities, and personalized lessons.
All new ESOL students received a QR code login and a welcome letter from Mr. Marcos.
✅ Students should complete 3 sessions per week, each lasting about 20 minutes.
Your support at home is so important, please help your child set aside time each week to log in and complete their sessions. Your involvement makes a BIG difference!
📄 Important Updates for Families
