Wildcat Weekly- 3/16-3/20

Message from Principal Martinez ๐พ
Dear Wildcat Families:
This past week we held a Disaster Drill where we practiced procedures to evacuate, account for all staff and students, and dispatched search and rescue teams. We practice these drills to help students understand the procedures so that in the case of a real emergency some of these actions feel familiar.
This is a great time to discuss with your family an emergency plan and talk to your kids about what that looks like. Also, make sure your emergency contacts are updated at school, because in the event of an emergency students will only be released to approved adults on their individual list with identification. As a reminder, in the case where we would have to go into a student release situation, all students will be released at the back of the school with access from Leona Lane. The front of our school campus will only be accessible by emergency and law enforcement vehicles. We appreciate your help in bridging the conversation of emergency procedures at home and thank you for your support of our school safety!
Looking ahead to this week, we are very excited to host our "Talent Show" on Thursday. Iโve heard our students practicing and it sounds like it will be great entertainment! We hope to see you all there!
Go Wildcats!
Continuing Student Registration
PUSD 2026-2027 Continuing Student Registration is open!
Online Continuing Student Registration will be open until March 31, 2026. We MUST receive a completed digital packet for all returning students. This will allow for proper placement of your student for the 2026-2027 school year. This annual digital process allows a family to complete one single โfamilyโ packet instead of completing one packet per student. Packets can be completed using any computer, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection.
New this year, we will also require a packet to be completed for all students LEAVING the district. This will be a quick process, but needs to be completed through the portal.
Continuing Registration Steps:
Login and complete the digital registration packet via the online registration portal found here.
Review and complete any required forms located at the conclusion of the process. A packet is not considered finalized until this step is completed.
Please note: MEDICATION FORMS or ADDITIONAL SIGNED SITE SPECIFIC FORMS WILL NOT BE COLLECTED UNTIL SCHOOL BEGINS IN AUGUST FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR.

Digital Citizenship
Managing Screen Time
Managing screen time is an essential part of supporting childrenโs well-being and academic success in todayโs digital world. Technology offers incredible opportunities for learning and creativity, but maintaining a healthy balance is key. Setting clear boundaries and encouraging mindful tech habits at home helps children develop the skills they need to navigate their digital lives responsibly. By working together to create a balanced approach to technology use, we can empower students to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
