Cunha Intermediate School
Week of November 10th to November 17th
Challenge Day Permission Slips Due Friday, November 21st
Through a series of games, activities, group discussions, icebreakers and trust-building exercises, Challenge Day helps young people learn to connect, increase self-esteem, shift peer pressure, and reduce the acceptability of teasing, oppression, and all forms of violence. Participants leave the experience with new levels of respect and communication with their peers, teachers, parents, community and themselves. The event can accommodate up to 100 7th and 8th graders, but the actual number of students invited will depend on the amount of adults that volunteer due to the strict 4:1 student to adult ratio. If you would like your child to participate, please contact their counselor for a permission slip.
Adult Participants Needed For Challenge Day
We are looking for about 10 more volunteers. Must be committed for the day 8:30 am-3:45pm. All adults in the community are welcome to volunteer. Please RSVP below if you are able to volunteer.

The canned food drive helps the community that needs more food and can't afford it. Now, more than ever, our community can use the help! Any canned and/or dry food supplies will help and this will be sent to Coastside Hope.
Each spirit class will work together to collect non-expired canned goods. You can also turn in dry goods such as ramen, dry rice, and beans. The class at each grade level with the highest tally of canned goods will receive 500 spirit points, but any class that participates will earn 300 spirit points. This school year, we’re proud to offer all students with $0 access to online therapy and counseling services, through our partnership with Hazel Health. Services are 100% safe and confidential.
Your student can speak 1-on-1 with a licensed therapist from the convenience of school or home, with your consent. Hazel Health provides high-quality care for all students — no matter their insurance or immigration status.
Hazel Health’s licensed therapists can help students build the tools and skills they need to succeed in and out of the classroom:
Improve communication and confidence
Build healthy friendships and relationships
Develop coping skills to manage emotions
Navigate academic stress and pressure
Hazel’s short-term online therapy program has been proven to reduce symptoms of common mental health concerns — and gives kids tools to cope with challenges they face at school and beyond. Students cannot receive care without your consent, so please take 5 minutes to sign up today at hazel.co.
Say Something Anonymous Reporting System
The Say Something-Anonymous Reporting System (ARS) program empowers students to be Upstanders and say something to a Trusted Adult when they recognize warning signs and threats. The Tip Line allows you to submit secure, anonymous safety concerns to help someone who may hurt themselves or others.
