Dear PES Families,

What an eventful week we’ve had! From Picture Day to Open House, our annual Title 1 meeting, and even a Fire Drill, there was so much happening! It was wonderful to see so many families at our Open House—thank you for joining us to learn about the amazing work our teachers have been doing with your students.

This week at PES, we focused on safety. Classes filled their paws with stickers, which they proudly shared at our all-school meeting this morning. Following that, our 4th graders led a discussion on what it means to be respectful. It was a great way to reinforce our community values!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,

Tammy

From the Nurse- Taking Care of Our Teeth

Dear Parents,

Use a toothpaste with fluoride to prevent cavities.

According to the American Dental Association: To prevent cavities, you need to remove plaque. To do this, brush your teeth twice a day and floss at least once a day. Brushing also stimulates the gums, which helps to keep them healthy and prevent gum disease. Brushing and flossing are the most important things that you can do to keep your teeth and gums healthy.

The main reason to go to the dentist every 6 months is prevention. The goal is to prevent tooth decay, gum disease, and other problems that put the health of your teeth and mouth at risk.

Taking care of your health includes dental care. Dental care can help prevent many kinds of health concerns for us and our children. Continue to encourage proper ways to clean teeth and gums in the fight against unhealthy habits.
