Hello from Mrs. Pasquale and Ms. Girt
Dear Longfellow Families,
Happy February!
As we step into a new month, we’re excited to celebrate Black History Month, a time for our students to learn about and honor the rich history, achievements, and contributions of Black leaders, past and present. Throughout February, classrooms will engage in age-appropriate lessons, read-alouds, and activities that promote understanding, kindness, and respect for ALL.
February also brings some fun traditions our students love! Valentine’s Day parties will be held this Friday. Please remember no additional food or candy is allowed, our PTA will be providing pizza for everyone! We’re looking forward to a day filled with smiles, friendship, and joy.
Please remember that there will be no school for students on February 16th and February 23rd. We hope these breaks provide time for rest, family, and fun.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We’re grateful to be part of such a caring school community and look forward to a wonderful month ahead!
Warmly Your Elementary Principals,
Karen Pasquale and Ashley Girt

Attendance Matters!
It is so important that students are at school every minute they are well enough to be! In Ohio, all absences count toward chronic absenteeism which is defined as missing 10% or more of total instructional time or about a half a day a week. Longfellow is working to improve our attendance. Currently, 25% of our students are chronically absent, let's move the needle together.
