Dear Families,

We value your feedback! Please take a few minutes to complete our Spring Family Survey. Your responses help us celebrate what’s working well and identify areas where we can continue to grow and improve for our students and families.

As an added incentive, the grade level with the highest family participation will earn extra recess and popsicles!

Crossing Guard Reminder

Most days, we have a crossing guard stationed on West Street to help students cross safely. Please allow the crossing guard to assist your child when crossing the street.

Recently, we had an unsafe situation where a parent directed their child to cross before it was safe to do so. For everyone’s safety, we ask that all families follow the crossing guard’s directions and wait for their signal before crossing. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe!

Thank You PTO & Volunteers!

A big thank you to our PTO and all of the parent volunteers who helped scoop ice cream on Friday during our End of MCAS Testing Ice Cream Social! Your time and support helped make the celebration extra special for our students. We truly appreciate all you do for our school community!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR FIELD DAY

Click here to volunteer for field day.

Must have a valid CORI on file with the Lenox Public School district to volunteer. (Submitted CORI is valid for 3 years.)

As part of our ongoing commitment to student safety, we want to inform you of an additional step in our background check process. To further ensure the safety of our students, anyone submitting a CORI request—including employees, volunteers, subcontractors, and others—must now also complete a DCF Background Check Form.

  • As CORIs expire part of the new process will also be a DCF Background Check Form.
  • All new CORI request will include a DCF Background check

To check if you have a valid CORI on file, please email Amy Freeman at afreeman@lenoxps.org.

Morris PTO Birthday Lunches

The Morris PTO celebrates Morris elementary student birthdays with a special, monthly birthday lunch. At their lunch period, students with birthdays that month get a small ice cream or popsicle treat, a birthday sticker, and a little birthday prize. Here is the schedule for the PTO Birthday Lunches this school year:

June: Monday, June 1st

July: Friday, June 4th

Parents and caregivers with active CORIs on file can participate in the PTO birthday lunches by helping to hand out treats and prizes. If you’d like to volunteer to help at one or more of the PTO birthday lunches, please email Haley Holmes (haleykayeholmes@hotmail.com).

CORI and DCF Background Checks for End-of-Year Activities

As we begin planning for our upcoming end-of-year events and activities, we want to remind families that any parent or guardian who plans to volunteer must have an up-to-date CORI and DCF background check on file with the school.

If you are interested in volunteering, please make sure your paperwork is completed ahead of time.

  • If you already have a CORI on file, please check that it is still current.

  • If this is your first time completing a CORI, please come to Morris School with a valid ID so we can process your form.

If you need to complete or renew your CORI/DCF background check, please contact:

  • Amy Freeman – afreeman@lenoxps.org

  • Ana Carpenter – acarpenter@lenoxps.org

Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe while supporting our end-of-year events!
