Artist of the Week - Josh Bailey
From Mr. Zysk's first period mixed media class - he is proud to announce Josh Bailey as the artist of the week.
Artist Statement: "I wanted to create a soccer ball out of wire because I am good at working shaping things with my hands, so I thought would be fun and because I play soccer. I draw the design onto cardboard to that size I wanted, cut a piece of wire and shape it into a circle, cut pieces of wire for the lines and shapes of the design and solder them together with a soldering iron using soldering alloy and after I cut smaller pieces of wire to fill in some of the spaces, I also put flux on all of the points that I was going to solder together. I feel like I did good because it was my first time using metal wire and soldering it together to make art and I created something that I like."
Josh is a conscientious artist who puts 110% effort in his work. I appreciate having him this block.
