Parking Permit Required to Park on Campus
Due by Friday, August 28th! All students and staff who park on the Vasquez High School campus must obtain a VHS Parking Permit
🎓 STUDENTS
Student parking is located in the designated areas of the west parking lot and is by permit only. Permits are issued on a first-come, first-served basis and do not guarantee a parking space.
To apply, students must complete the VHS Parking Permit Application and provide clear photocopies of:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Current Auto Insurance
- Valid Student ID
Important: Applications will not be accepted if information or required documentation is missing. VHS does not make photocopies, so please bring copies with you when submitting your application.
👩🏫 STAFF
Staff members who park on campus must also obtain and display a VHS Parking Permit. Please complete the parking permit process through the VHS Main Office.
🚘 PARKING REMINDERS
Once issued, your parking permit must be hung from the rearview mirror with the front of the permit clearly visible.
Students must park only in designated student parking areas, follow the 10 MPH campus speed limit, and may not park in staff, visitor, or reserved spaces.
Parking on campus is a privilege. Failure to follow VHS parking rules may result in a $25 citation, loss of parking privileges, school discipline, and/or towing at the owner’s expense.
📍 Need a permit? Stop by the VHS Office for a Parking Permit Application and additional information.
mySaebrs SEL Notice
Vasquez High School will administer the mySAEBRS (Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener) self-assessment from September 2–9, 2026. This quick, 5-to-10-minute online tool helps educators identify where students may benefit from extra mentorship, skill-building, or encouragement across social, academic, and emotional areas.
No action is required if you are comfortable with your child participating. If you prefer to opt out, please sign and return the Opt-Out Request Form to the main office by September 1, 2026. Check your email for the full notice and form, or contact the front office to view the screener questions.
Reporting Absences & Independent Study
***Please use this Google form to report your students absence:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScTbwhqxAwPoVR2HoblmHPR7UgO4yRMBPeVzxqD3t6HYffBxw/viewform
***To recover attendance credit for the day(s) your student is absent via Independent Study please contact me at your earliest convenience***
Here is how it works:
Independent Study allows your student to complete assignments for the time they missed. If they complete and submit the required work, attendance credit will be restored for those absent days.
To begin, we will need a signed contract from you/your family. The contract covers the entire school year, which means your student can use this option any time they have an absence (with approval).
Assignments will be posted to Google Classroom, and teachers may provide additional assignments to be picked up from the office or sent via email.
Important: ALL absences must be communicated to the attendance office in order to qualify for Independent Study.
If you are interested in moving forward, please let me know and I will send you the contract for signature. Once it is signed, we can begin this process immediately. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns about how Independent Study works, the expectations, or anything else.

Tech Update: Student Chromebooks Required Daily
As we kick off the school year, please remember that all students are required to use a district-assigned Chromebook. These devices are essential for daily learning and ensure students can access instructional materials and testing applications securely. Personal laptops, iPads, or tablets are not permitted.
Here is what you need to know to keep your student ready for class:
Daily Prep: Students must bring their district Chromebook to school fully charged every day and take it home each evening.
No Classroom Charging: Classrooms do not have charging stations, so starting the day with a 100% battery is crucial.
Didn't Get a Chromebook at Registration? If your student still needs a device, you can pick one up directly from the District Office.
Thank you for helping us ensure a seamless, tech-ready environment for all our students!
