Mrs. Tomas' Art Class – Making Our Mark!
In art class, we read The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, a story that celebrates creativity and the courage to start with just one small mark. Inspired by the book, our young artists each created their own unique artwork starting with a single dot — turning it into everything from colorful creatures to abstract masterpieces. We’re so proud of their imagination and boldness!
City Arrays with Grade 3
Third graders made Array Cities based on a multiplication fact . Their building was made of an array of yellow windows, and then they had to decide what building they wanted. Ms. Crawfords 2nd grade class surprised us with their own array city based off repeated addition!!
Mrs Hitchings Class
Mrs. Hitching’s second graders have been busy becoming text detectives! While reading A Color of His Own by Leo Lionni, students shared their ideas about the story and backed them up with evidence from the book.
Ms Crawford's Class
Ms. Crawford’s students had some sweet fun after wrapping up their unit on arrays! To celebrate their learning, the class built arrays using candy corn, combining math practice with a tasty seasonal treat.
Ms Sharkey's Class
After completing an science unit on solids, liquids and gas, students had fun playing with Oobleck!
Quest for Kindness Assembly
Quest for Kindness is an engaging, interactive adventure where students work together to unlock the Key to Kindness. Along the way, they take on fun group challenges designed to build self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and practical problem-solving skills. This one-of-a-kind experience helps students understand the power of kindness in shaping a positive school culture—setting the stage for empathy and respect. Presented in an age-appropriate, entertaining format, this program is both impactful and unforgettable.
Safety Reminder for Drop-Off and Pick-Up
For the safety of all students, please ensure your child exits the vehicle on the passenger side closest to the sidewalk during both drop-off and pick-up. This helps avoid any risk of students stepping into traffic.
We also ask that families do not allow children to play on the playground before dismissal, including younger siblings or children waiting with adults (as mentioned in the back to school procedures). There is no staff supervision on the playground before dismissal, and we want to ensure all children remain safe.
Thank you for your continued cooperation in keeping our school community safe!
CURRICULUM NIGHT
It was such a pleasure to see so many families at Curriculum Night! The energy in the building was fantastic as families visited classrooms, met teachers, and got a glimpse of what students are learning. Thank you for coming — we truly enjoyed connecting with all of you!
School Council
Please consider being part of the continuous effort to improve our school. Community input is needed in determining the direction of education for our young people. We are in need of parent volunteers for our RLM School Council this year. If you have a child at the school and would like to serve as a representative on the council, please contact us. Meetings generally last an hour or less and take place after school. It is a good way to be involved in the improvement of our school.

PRIDE program at RLM
At RLM, our PRIDE program is designed to help students grow not only as learners, but also as caring, responsible community members. Each month, teachers and students focus on one of our PRIDE traits:
-
September – Passion
-
October – Respect
-
November – Ingenuity
-
December – Determination
-
January – Empathy
-
February – Positivity
-
March – Responsibility
-
April – Inclusivity
-
May – Dreamer
Throughout the month, students learn about the featured trait in their classrooms and in schoolwide activities. On Mondays and Fridays, student volunteers share examples and their own interpretations of the trait during morning announcements. At the end of each month, we celebrate students who have done an exceptional job demonstrating the trait in their daily actions. These students will also receive a token to "purchase" a book from our school book vending machine.
Our PRIDE program helps us build a school culture where character, leadership, and positive choices are valued and celebrated.

Student Council wants YOU to help with BOX TOPS!
Families, you are AMAZING! We have more parents and grandparents using the Box Tops app and, as a result, we have already raised over $55 for our school. Please spread the word to other families in town and to your relatives! ANYONE can download the app to support our school. Why not take one minute after each shopping trip to scan the receipt and raise more money for RLM? Staples, CVS, Market Basket, Truchhi's, Roche Brothers, Walmart, Target, and more all carry Box Tops products that count towards our fundraising efforts! You are not spending any extra money. You just upload the digital receipts or scan paper receipts for items you are ALREADY purchasing! Every little bit helps our school! Click here to download the app today or send your receipts to school. We are happy to scan them for you!
Summer Reading 2025
Thank you to all of our wildcat readers for their participation in our summer reading challenge, one where we strived to read daily. Just like playing a sport, whether it is baseball, dance, or soccer, practice is key to making progress and performing stronger. We aimed to read for 1,000 minutes this summer to practice our reading! Participating students received an award to honor their commitment and efforts. CONGRATS READERS - and thank you to their families for their support and encouragement!
Our fall reading challenge starts TODAY! Please be on the lookout for the paperwork that your student is bringing home this afternoon!
Ms. Alves Class Digs Into the School Garden
Ms. Alves’ class has taken the lead in tending the school garden this season. From planting fall vegetables to watering and weeding, students are getting hands-on experience with how things grow—and what it takes to keep a garden thriving. It’s been a great mix of fresh air, teamwork, and a little dirt along the way!
Birthdays at RLM
As a friendly reminder for some and an introduction to others, I want to share information about our birthday traditions here at school. The night before each student's birthday, Mrs. Enos (our Reading Specialist) emails families a short video where she initiates the birthday celebration and reads a special birthday story. Then, kiddos' birthdays are announced over the intercom during morning announcements on their day (Saturday birthdays are celebrated on Fridays and Sunday birthdays are celebrated on Mondays; vacation birthdays will be announced on the Friday before vacation break starts). Students will not only hear their names and birthdays announced but they will also be invited to visit Mrs. Enos's room during snack or recess break to receive birthday gifts (a book of their choice and some birthday trinkets). Birthdays are a big deal at this age and deserve to be treated as such!
Because school is not in session during the summer for those with a summer birthday (mid-June through the beginning of September, when morning announcements started), we have opted to celebrate those particular kiddos on their HALF BIRTHDAY instead. It helps balance the number of announcements and includes them a bit more instead of celebrating all of the summer birthdays on one day at the end of the school year.
Parents - please be on the lookout for an email as messages can sometimes get lost in the junk folder.
First Grade Apple Tasting!
First graders recently completed their science unit on plant life cycles with a delicious hands-on activity—apple tasting! Throughout the unit, students explored the life cycle of an apple tree, from seed to fruit, and discovered how apples grow and change over time. The unit culminated in a fun and flavorful tasting experience where students sampled different apple varieties and practiced making observations just like real scientists!
Donations Needed
Hi everyone! As the school nurse, I often help students who experience unexpected mishaps like spills during the day. We’re collecting gently used clothing—especially pants, shirts, socks, and jackets—in all sizes to have on hand for these moments. Your generosity helps keep our students comfortable and confident. Thank you so much for your support!
Wildcat Cafe
Recognizing National School Lunch Week, October 14-17.
Learning is tough work—and children need fuel if they’re going to learn! That’s why a healthy midday meal is crucial to the growing children who go to school. Since 1962, when President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW), this annual observance has promoted the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has both in and out of the classroom. Today, the National School Lunch Program serves nearly 30 million children every school day. Not only does it reduce childhood hunger, but it also supports American agriculture. West Bridgewater's four cafeterias serve almost 1000 lunches to hungry students each day!
Farm to School! We are partnering again this year with C.N. Smith Farm, Langwater Farm, and Vineyard Farm to provide fresh and local fruits and vegetables for our school meals. The list includes local corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, lettuce, carrots, and of course several varieties of apples! This year we've been able to add the Spring Street and RLM school gardens to the list!

We are looking for a part-time position and cafeteria substitutes. Please email Ann Marie Grinder agrinder@wbridgewater.com for more information.
