Friendship Builds the Future: Be Here. Belong. Become.
Across the District, schools are building momentum and connection through consistent daily attendance. The next districtwide Power Day—Friendship Day—takes place on Thursday, February 12, and presents a meaningful opportunity to promote positive relationships, encourage peer support, and foster school spirit through shared experiences.
This winter Power Day comes just ahead of the Presidents’ Day weekend, a time when attendance often dips. However, classrooms across the district are preparing engaging, purposeful learning activities that strengthen belonging, reinforce academic progress, and make every student feel valued and connected. Activities may include kindness circles, friendship projects, or spirit days designed to build social-emotional learning and classroom community.
As a District, the focus remains clear: consistency ensures growth and belonging nurtures engagement. Let’s continue to support daily attendance as a foundation for success, and make Thursday, February 12, a day where every student is present, supported, and celebrated.
Below is this week's attendance chart. Schools in green have a 95 percent or higher attendance rate—help us turn those grey bars green! Thank you for partnering with us to help your child succeed. Every day at school makes a difference.
