Good Evening Patriots,

Oh my goodness can you believe what a beautiful and spectacularly sunny weekend we had?! I know you might be tempted to throw caution to the wind, ditch the ol'e dress code, run for the closest park and play basketball, football, soccer, or if you are like me, ditch movement all together and just lay in the sun soaking up the warmth like a lovely, lazy lizard. We know it sounds lovely, and we may or may not want to do it too, but we need you to dig deep these last few weeks, fight that temptation and come to school!!

For the next few weeks here at PHJH we are about to live by the motto "Work Hard, Play Hard." RISE testing, like Maverick in the Top Gun movies, is coming in hot and fast, and we have some big growth goals we are looking to crush in English, Math, and Science! In addition to our Patriots showing off what they know, there is a significant amount of celebrations and fun the MUST be had!!!

It is vitally important y'all get your calendars out to save the dates listed below, make sure all of your NG's are cleared up, and steer clear of any shenanigans that would get you into serious hot water for the next couple of months. We want EVERYONE to attend EVERYTHING, so please follow the rules, lead all your interactions with kindness, and if you think about doing something that sounds like a bad idea in your head, 99.99999% of the time it is, so do exactly the opposite and you should be in good shape.

We can't wait to see you all tomorrow!

Buenas noches Patriotas,

Dios mío, ¿te puedes creer el fin de semana tan bonito y espectacularmente soleado que hemos tenido? Sé que puedes sentir la tentación de dejar a un lado las vacaciones, saltarte el viejo código de vestimenta, correr al parque más cercano y jugar al baloncesto, al fútbol o, si eres como yo, dejar de lado el movimiento y simplemente tumbarte al sol y absorber el calor como un encantador y perezoso lagarto. Sabemos que suena muy bien, y puede que a nosotros también nos apetezca o no, pero necesitamos que te esfuerces estas últimas semanas, que luches contra la tentación y que vengas a la escuela.

Para las próximas semanas aquí en PHJH estamos a punto de vivir por el lema de trabajar duro, jugar duro. Las pruebas de RISE, como Maverick en las películas de Top Gun, están llegando rápido, y tenemos algunas metas grandes de crecimiento que estamos tratando de aplastar en Inglés, Matemáticas y Ciencias. Además de que nuestros Patriotas demuestren lo que saben, hay una cantidad significativa de celebraciones y diversión que DEBEN tener.

Es de vital importancia que saquéis vuestros calendarios para reservar las fechas que se indican a continuación, que os aseguréis de que todos vuestros NG's están despejados y que os mantengáis alejados de cualquier travesura que os pueda meter en serios apuros durante los próximos meses. Queremos que TODOS asistan a TODO, así que, por favor, sigue las normas, conduce todas tus interacciones con amabilidad, y si piensas en hacer algo que te parece una mala idea en tu cabeza, el 99,99999% de las veces lo es, así que haz exactamente lo contrario y estarás en buena forma.

Estamos impacientes por veros a todos mañana.

Dear PHJH Parents,

We are once again opening a extremely limited amount of VIP chaperoning slots for the last dance of the 23/24 school year. This is a coveted opportunity where there are no limits as it pertains to the over the top level of topical and Hawaiian gear that you can and are encouraged to wear at this event.

You will have front seat access to watch students do the Griddy or if you want to be a true legend, YOU can be the one to show them how to the Griddy and then drop the mic and know that they will forever know who is really the boss.

These spots fill up fast, so if you are looking for the most inexpensive and entertaining date night of all time, or you are just hoping to be part of this exclusive club, run do not walk to your computers and snag one of the spots on the sign up.

The Providence Hall Junior High yearbook staff is offering an adopt-a-student program, which is a scholarship program for students who may be unable to purchase a yearbook. Businesses, organizations, or individuals who would like to participate in the program, will be given the early bird price for the donation yearbook and for their own.

We keep this information confidential, and the guidance counselors and administration help make sure the books get to the students in need. You can purchase a yearbook in Skyward by signing up for a spot on the sign up list below and we will add it to your Skyward account, or come into the front office and pay with cash, card or check. Thank you for your support of our program and our students in need.

Just in case you were not aware of how insanely amazing our students are here at PHJH, please allow me to offer yet one more piece of evidence to make my case. Recently I got a package in the mail from my bonus niece in Texas with an exact replica of Mr. Summers, but in a very flat state. In the package was a letter from my niece explaining that this was "Flat Stanley" as well as a letter from her teacher giving me a little background about Flat Stanley and instructions for what I was supposed to do with him.

To say I was excited to take Flat Stanley to school was the understatement of the century! Why you might ask? Well, I know our Patriots, and I knew with out question they would be onboard to help, and just as I suspected, they did not disappoint. Flat Stanley has been a Providence Hall VIP all week, participating in soccer practice, going on dance field trips, and even traveling over to the high school to help teach a class and have lunch with some of coolest students at the high school.

He is excited to come back for some more fun this week, and is hoping to learn a little math, maybe learn and instrument or two, and if time permits, make a trip up to meet some of the kids at the elementary and try out their new playground. If any of our Patriots are interested in showing Flat Stanley their favorite part of PHJH, just let Mrs. Summers know, and she will make it happen.

We wanted to take a second to give a huge shout out to Huni Folau for being the only player from Utah to be selected to play in a nationwide NCAA tournament certified with college coaches present into regarding college scholarships. We have loved watching Huni grow up here at PHJH and are excited to see all of the success she is going to have in the future!

Way to go Huni!
