Sioux Falls School District's Digital Time Capsule

Hawthorne in the Early 1900s

Originally constructed by T.C. Marson in 1882, Hawthorne looked very similar to the early Whittier School. In fact, the two were called the "twin buildings." This building at Third Street and Spring Avenue was razed in 1923 in favor of a new building at Fourth Street and Duluth Avenue.
