Celebrating the Lunar New Year
On February 3, 2023, the Glen Grove community came together to learn and celebrate ways various members of our community celebrate Lunar New Year. In partnership with the Mongolian Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC), parents, teachers, and other individuals, the Glen Grove Community Project organized this event to be shared by all. Students, staff, and families learned how to make Chinese calligraphy, participated in Korean games, saw traditional Mongolian music and dance, learned about lunar science, tasted traditional food, and wrote down their actions for peace on slips of paper and attached it to a community endless knot (symbolizing peace, infinite love, and interdependence on community).
