Caragher's Corner
Good Afternoon Parents/Guardians,
Today marks the end of the 2nd quarter and the official 1/2 way point for the school year!
Please be sure that your students are prepared for an outdoor recess. Here at GBS and other schools within the district, we will be going outside unless the "feels like" temperature falls below 10 degrees. The fresh air break is beneficial for all of our students!
Here are a few points of clarification around dropping off your student or picking them up at irregular times (early dismissal, returning from Doctor, dismissing for dentist, tardy, etc.):
- You do not need to accompany your student into the building upon returning or arrival to school.
- You do need to come into the building in order to sign your student out.
We would really like to thank our PTO and staff for organizing and providing our 5th and 6th grade students with a new fun "Afternoon of Games". It was quite a hit with the kids, hope to have a few photos to share with you in the next BB!
As always, thanks for partnering with us as we work with your students! We look forward to continuing to work together to provide the best possible experience for our GBS students.
Sincerely,
Adam Caragher, Principal ~ GBS

Around the Bobcat World
During the Fifth Grade unit on fraction the students had a homework assignment based on converting recipes as chefs and bakers have to use fraction operations all the time! Extra credit was offered for any students who chose to follow the recipes in the assignment. Here are a couple of pictures showing a class enjoying a treat thanks to one of their classmates baking, and bringing the finished product in to share!
Social Studies students in Mrs. Halliday's class are working on creating their own civilizations.
Our 6th grade "Reader's Theater" preformed for their peers during a pop up performance of the story of Perseus from Greek Mythology.
The GBS play production and construction are now underway. Here are a few photos from this week of the costume design crew getting measurements of the actors and actresses in preparation for the March performance.
Here are some photos from 7th grade science as they are focusing on Chemical Reactions. We are observing chemical reactions and deciding if they are creating physical or chemical changes. So much fun!!
A rare inside peak at the GBS Morning Show in thier preparation stage of the broadcast.
Students had a chance to meet virtually with Ken Lowery of Bannerless Games.
