๐ BERKELEY COUNTY GOES GOLD โ SEPTEMBER 16 ๐
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and schools and businesses across West Virginia are being encouraged to GO GOLD in support of children and families affected by childhood cancer. West Virginia Kids Cancer Crusaders encourages schools across our state to participate, and this year's Go Gold Day will be Wednesday, September 16.
Safety Update
Our school completed a Lockdown - Run this week. Students practiced hiding in their classroom and then the classes followed the route for our primary escape location. Students did a really nice job listening to directions. This is so important in any situation, especially when we have the option to hide or run in a safety event. Please remind them to always listen to the adult giving directions in any situation.
Counselor's Corner
Mountain Ridge Primary School is joining Berkeley County Schools in celebrating Bullying Prevention Kick-Off week during the week of September 14th through September 18th. Mountain Ridge Primary School is celebrating friendship and kindness throughout the week by holding a spirit week! The Bullying Prevention Week flier lists the dress-up days for this spirit week.
In addition to celebrating at school, we encourage families to come to Berkeley Countyโs Annual Bullying Prevention Kick-Off event on Thursday, September 7th, from 5:00-7:00pm at War Memorial Park. This free event will be filled with fun, food, dancing, school performances, giveaways, face painting and more!
Here at Mountain Ridge Primary School, we follow the BCS Bullying Prevention Program which prevents and addresses bullying through weekly class meetings, creating a school family, community partnerships and providing interventions in situations where bullying occurs. For more information about the Berkeley County Bullying Prevention Program, please see the Bullying Prevention Program tab of the BCS website:
