Important Community Advisory
The safety of our students and school community is of great importance and relies greatly on our parent drivers following the safety rules of the road and rules of our valet. It is crucial that we prioritize the safety of our children and the entire school community during morning drop-off and afternoon pickup. The purpose of this advisory is to remind everyone of the importance of following traffic laws and rules to ensure a safe environment for all.
Here are some key points to keep in mind:
1. **Follow Traffic Laws and Rules:** It is imperative that every parent or caregiver adheres to traffic laws and rules during the drop-off and pickup hours. This includes obeying speed limits, stop signs, and other traffic signs. The front of school is a no parking zone during the afternoon and your car should not be left unattended. By doing so, we contribute to a safer environment for everyone.
2. **Avoid Blocking Driveways:** Please refrain from blocking driveways, whether they belong to fellow parents or residents in the surrounding Walteria community. Blocking driveways can cause inconvenience and safety hazards, and it is crucial that we respect the private property of others.
3. **No Parking in Red Zones:** Red zones are designated for specific reasons, often related to safety and emergency access. Parking in these zones poses a risk to everyone's safety and can impede emergency response vehicles.
4. **Use Crosswalks:** Encourage your children to use crosswalks when crossing the street. By setting a good example and using crosswalks ourselves, we teach our children the importance of pedestrian safety.
5. **No Double Parking:** Double parking can obstruct the flow of traffic and create unnecessary congestion. Please find legal parking spaces or designated drop-off zones to avoid double parking.
At Walteria, safety takes precedence over speed. We kindly ask for your cooperation in fostering a safe and secure environment for our entire school community. Let's be courteous, patient, and considerate of the residents who live around Walteria. Together, we can create a positive and safe school experience for our children.
