Pangborn Families
We hope that you and your family are continuing to stay safe and healthy during this time. As announced by Dr. Karen Salmon, state superintendent of schools, Maryland schools will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, with the last student day being Wednesday, June 10th.
We understand that this may cause mixed emotions and many questions. Please know that the staff at PBE miss their students and wish they could have their students in class but at this time it is not possible. However, our staff will continue providing Distance Learning @ WCPS using the platform we have all become accustomed to utilizing.
Please continue to encourage your child/ren to engage in Distance Learning where prerecorded lessons, resources and assignments are provided by the classroom teachers. The teachers also provide live Zoom sessions where students may interact with their teacher and each other.
Also, continue reaching out to your child's classroom teacher, encore teachers, school counselors, support staff, and administration with any questions or for support. We are all in this venture and new way of learning together and will continue striving to support and enhance the academic, social, and emotional needs of students during this unprecedented time.

Distance Learning Grading
As we continue with the implementation of the Distance Learning Plan, teachers are grading student work and you should be able to see your child’s grades on ParentVUE and StudentVUE. Please know those grades will be used to calculate fourth marking period grades.
If, for any reason, your child has not been fully engaged in learning or if you need additional support for your child, please reach out to our school office @ 301-766-8282.
Thanks for all you are doing at home to continue your child’s education and collaboration with their teachers.

Pre-k and Kindergarten Registration
Pre-k:
For students who will be four years old by September 1, 2020, parents can print the pre-k application and fax or mail the completed form to the fax number or address listed on the application. Families can also make arrangements to pick up a hard copy of the application by calling the school. If this is not possible, WCPS will work closely with families to ensure schools have the necessary information for students to enroll for the start of the 2020-2021 school year. When the application is received and processed, families will receive an enrollment packet in the mail. When complete, please call the school as school staff are prepared to work with parents through a virtual enrollment process.
Kindergarten:
For students who will be five years old by September 1, 2020, parents can begin the process to have their child enrolled in kindergarten. Parents should contact the school where their child will attend and request the enrollment forms. When the forms are completed, parents should contact the school and be prepared to provide other necessary forms. To follow updates on the enrollment process, please visit the Kindergarten Enrollment page.
If you’re unsure which school your child will attend you can enter your address in the WCPS School Locator.
