TERM 3 INTERIM REPORTS
March 11th marks the halfway point for Term 3. As you are able to monitor your child's progress on Aspen, our online grading and attendance program, we recommend you check your child's academic progress to date. On March 14th, Aspen will provide you with detailed information regarding your child's completion of assignments and attendance, as well as information on classwork, homework, quizzes, and test scores. Hopefully, this information will enable you to have meaningful conversations with your child about their progress and/or expectations.

Updates From The Principal
Hello NRMS Families,
Happy March. Daylight Savings Time starts this weekend and we are all excited about more daylight. Don't forget to set your clocks ahead one hour and spring forward this weekend.
The 2nd annual 8th grade cornhole tournament is underway. We revealed the bracket earlier this week. This year we have 48 8th grade students participating. They each selected a faculty member as a partner and we will hold the matches throughout the month. It is our version of March Madness and a way to inject some additional fun into the school day.
Next week, students will take the math assessment in iReady. That will be the final iReady assessment for this school year. In order to reduce the number of testing days in the spring, we are only testing in iReady twice this year. We expect to see similar growth in math from fall to now just like the reading results indicated a couple of weeks ago.
We are busy planning for next year. The school calendar has been approved by the School Committee and is included in this newsletter to help you plan ahead. Please remember, attendance matters. Please do not plan family vacations outside of the designated vacation weeks on the calendar. We hope that by providing this information so early, you can plan accordingly.
The next step in the scheduling process is the course selection process for students. Soon current 6th graders and their parents/guardians will receive instructions on how to select a World Language to study for 7th and 8th grade. Students will use Aspen to select either French or Spanish.
For students in grade 7 currently there will be a number of elective courses to choose from. Instructions on how to make course selections along with course descriptions will be shared soon.
Enjoy the weekend and don't forget to change the clocks forward one hour.
