High School Seniors: Deadline approaching to apply for local scholarships
Each year, thousands upon thousands of dollars in local scholarships are awarded to seniors pursuing higher education. We are very thankful for the families, organizations and businesses whose generosity has enabled many Davison students to pursue higher education goals.
Now is the time for seniors to begin applying for these scholarships as applications are due by March 25. Students will need to be logged into their Davison Schools email account to submit their application.
Below is a list of the scholarships and the links to apply.
Crongeyer Family Scholarship (exception: due date 4/25/25)
Seniors: there are additional scholarship opportunities posted in your 'class of 2025' google classroom. These are non-local scholarships with varying due dates. Several posts a week are added to the classroom. Information posted includes scholarship information, specific college information and events, and informational announcements that come from the Counseling Office and Career Center. Davison High School DECA recognized for outstanding School-based Enterprise (SBE)
The Cardinal Shop, located inside the cafeteria at Davison High School, has been recognized as one of the top school-based enterprises achieving gold level certification for the 2024-2025 school year. For that, Davison High School will be recognized during DECA’s International Career Development Conference April 26-29, 2025, in Orlando, Florida.
A school-based enterprise (SBE) is an entrepreneurial operation in a school setting that provides goods and services to meet the needs of the market. SBEs are managed and operated by students as hands-on learning laboratories that integrate National Curriculum Standards in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. DECA advisors have utilized this effective educational tool for over four decades to provide their students with realistic and practical learning experiences that reinforce classroom instruction, enhance 21st Century skill development, and prepare students for college and careers.
The Davison High School DECA members who contributed to the certification were Kail Glennie
and Lilah Pierson with the assistance of their DECA chapter advisor, Matt Ames. The SBE at
Davison High School has operated for 51 years and is to be commended for this achievement.
“DECA’s School-based Enterprise Certification Program is a rigorous process designed to help
DECA members demonstrate their classroom learning in a practical, learning laboratory, and
then translate that into meaningful outcomes,” said Christopher Young, CAE, Chief Program
Officer at DECA Inc. “These DECA members are practicing important workplace readiness skills
while preparing for college and careers.”
DECA’s School-based Enterprise Certification Program provides recognition for outstanding
achievement by school-based enterprises and motivates SBEs to strive for excellence and
growth. SBEs can be certified at three levels: bronze, silver or gold. In order to apply for the
certification, SBEs must submit extensive documentation that explains how the SBE
demonstrates the practice of various marketing and retail standards. A review committee
evaluates the documentation to determine which level of certification has been achieved.
