Message to our Carusi Families from Mrs. Franco
Cherry Hill Public Schools is committed to the safety and security of all students. This includes ensuring that students and families have available resources and supports to access education. Considering the recent executive orders, CHPS and the New Jersey Department of Education have collected many resources to support our immigrant families. If you would like me to share these resources with you, please feel free to reach out.
Eagles Spirit Soars High in the Halls
Excitement filled the halls as teachers and students proudly showed their Eagles spirit, turning the school into a sea of green in support of their team. From decorations to team gear, the energy was undeniable as everyone rallied together in anticipation for the big game.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the Annual Teacher’s Soup-er Bowl, where faculty members brought in their best homemade soups, chilli and dips to for all to enjoy. Laughter and delicious aromas filled the air as staff enjoyed warm bowls of comfort while discussing the potential final scores.
In Ms. Owens’ math class, students combined school spirit with learning by plotting coordinate points to create an eagle. This creative lesson not only reinforced their understanding of graphing but also added to the excitement leading up to the game.
With high hopes and endless enthusiasm, our Eagles fans are ready for a Super Bowl victory. We’ve got the spirit—now we’re counting on our birds to bring home the win!

8th Grade Health Welcomes Guest Speaker
On Friday 2/7 and Monday 2/10 Carusi eighth grade health students actively participated in a presentation from the Jewish Family and Children's Service of Southern New Jersey. The presentation directly aligns with the NJSLS for 8th grade health, including the characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships, signs of abuse, and consent. The presentation highlighted various types of abuse as well as provided local resources for students to reach out to if they ever experience a similar situation.
Jump Rope for Heart
Next week, we’re kicking off our annual "Jump Rope for Heart" event in PE classes! We’re proud to partner with the American Heart Association to promote heart health and raise awareness about keeping our hearts strong. Get ready to jump, have fun, and support a great cause.

Norovirus Information
As we continue to journey through the winter months, I wanted to take a moment to remind everyone about important health issues that tend to circulate during this time (i.e. norovirus, C. diff, respiratory infections, and other common seasonal illnesses like the flu).
Norovirus, in particular, is highly contagious and can spread quickly in school settings. Symptoms typically include vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach cramps, which can lead to significant absenteeism if not managed properly. To help prevent its spread and ensure the health and safety of our students and staff, please keep the following tips in mind:
1. Encourage Hand Hygiene
Remind students and staff to wash their hands frequently with soap and water, especially after using the restroom, before eating, and after coughing or sneezing.
2. Clean and Disinfect
Ensure that high-touch surfaces (such as doorknobs, light switches, desks, and faucets) are cleaned and disinfected regularly to help minimize the spread of germs.
3. Stay Home If Sick
If a child or staff member is experiencing symptoms of norovirus, they should stay home for at least 24-48 hours after symptoms resolve to avoid spreading the virus. For respiratory illnesses, stay home until 24 hours after being fever-free without any fever-reducing medication.

Your child should be at the bus stop at least 5-10 minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time. School buses are scheduled to depart approximately 10-15 minutes after the end bell time. Please allow for some fluctuation in pick-up and drop-off times, particularly during the first three weeks of school as students become familiar with boarding the buses and Drivers at the Middle, Elementary, and Preschools work to secure seating charts.
