"...it is tough"
If you are feeling a bit overwhelmed as you read this, know that you aren’t alone. We are in a season that feels heavy, where the needs of our children (and ourselves) often seem to outweigh the hours in our day. In times like these, it’s easy to feel like our individual efforts are just a drop in the ocean. But as Helen Keller reminded us, 'Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.' Before we dive into the updates for this week, I want to pause and acknowledge that the 'much' we are achieving is only possible because we are carrying it together.

Message for the Week:
Message from Mr. Tejkl
Alone we can do so little...
Good morning!
Happy Weekend and what a weekend it was! We had Girls Wrestling out in Gering and brought back THREE state qualifiers! Our JH Boys Basketball team wrapped up a successful season at Genoa! Our Boys Wrestling Team earned a 4th place finish at State Duals at Kearney! And we successfully hosted our own SRC Invite with 22 teams competing with our Novice team taking 1st place and our Varsity team earning a 2nd place finish! All in all, it was a great weekend but we now gear up for a jam packed week!
So here we are, a week into February and it goes from -10 degrees to 70 degrees in 24 hours. Gray skies to blue. Smiles to overwhelmed in a matter of 45 minutes. The reality is that our daily to-do list only tells half the story. The real grind is the emotional roller coaster that doesn’t show up on a calendar. We are constantly making decisions that others might think are easy, but we know they carry the weight of a child/staff/patrons' confidence or safety. We have sleepless nights over the right words to say and how to be a calm in the middle of a hurricane, all while navigating our own personal lives. None of us leaves our personal challenges at the door (as much as we say we will); we are all balancing family needs and personal hurdles while trying to show up fully for each other.
When the world feels loud and the kids need more than we think we have left to give, it is easy to feel isolated in the grind. But it is a myth that we have to be resilient all by ourselves. True resilience is a team sport. We aren't just individuals working in the same building; we are an ecosystem of support. We aren't just a "school", we are an interweaved system of communities and individuals. The "so much" that Helen Keller spoke of isn't just about the progress we see—it’s about the way we show up for each other when the day is hard. We will get through these challenging times, but only if we stop trying to be heroes in a vacuum and start being a community that catches one another. Before we dive into the week ahead, take a moment to reach out to a few people and let them know you are there and also remember: you don’t have to carry the weight of the world alone.
Have a great rest of your week!
Quote of the week to reflect on:
"Alone we can do so little; Together we can do so much."
Helen Keller
Sincerely,
Tucker Tejkl
