Tigers, Support LTHS by Wearing Red on September 10!
It's the Great Tiger RED OUT!!!!!
Dear Lake Travis ISD Parents/Guardians and Staff,
Cavalier Nation, mark your calendars! The Lake Travis High School PTO invites you to the 2025 Homecoming Parade & Extravaganza on Wednesday, September 10, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. This districtwide celebration showcases our students in athletics, fine arts, clubs, and organizations while bringing our community together. The parade and extravaganza promise an unforgettable evening for all, with proceeds benefiting LTHS students and teachers throughout the year.
More than 2,000 guests are expected to join the fun as families of all ages enjoy the festivities. The main parking lot at Lake Travis High School will transform into the Extravaganza site, featuring food trucks, local vendors, and booths hosted by student clubs and athletic teams with family-friendly games. The PTO will also have wristbands available for inflatable activities along with official event t-shirts. Following the parade, Cavalier Stadium will host a senior class recognition and the presentation of the Homecoming Court.
Due to construction, parking is limited at Lake Travis High School. For your convenience, parking is available at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center–Lakeway with free shuttle service to and from the event.

Update Consent in Skyward TODAY!
During the 89th Texas Legislative Session, lawmakers passed Senate Bill 12, which requires school districts to obtain parental consent each year before providing certain routine services to students. This law goes into effect on September 1, 2025.
In Lake Travis ISD, parents/guardians will be asked to provide consent for the following:
- Health Services – routine care provided by nurses or trained staff (first aid, screenings, medication administration, chronic condition support, etc.).
- Counseling Services – support provided by school counselors (guidance lessons, short-term counseling, prevention programs, academic and career planning, etc.).
- Student Clubs – participation in campus- or district-sponsored clubs, including academic teams, service organizations, extracurricular activity clubs, and interest-based groups.
Next Steps for Families
Consent forms are now available in Skyward Family Access. Parents/guardians may log in to view instructions and provide or deny consent.
Join us for this year's Mother & Son Kickball Tournament event at Hill Country Indoor on Friday, September 19, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm! We will be hosting a night filled with pizza, kickball, and fun!
Tickets can be purchased through Konstella. Just click on the button. The cost is $25 for one Mother and Son pair. Additional students can be added for $5 each. All attending children must be students at WCHE, and we ask that you not bring any spectators or additional family members.
Those who sign up will receive more details on your grade-level game time slots, when to arrive, etc.
Tiger Art Needs Yarn and Ribbon, Please
Our Art classroom is working on a group weaving project, and we could use your help. We need ribbon and yarn--any color, any size. Any yarn and ribbon work well for this particular project. We just need a lot of it! If you have yarn and/or ribbon you are willing to donate to our project, please drop them off at the office or send it to Art Class via your Tiger(s.)
Thanks! We promise to show you the results soon!
Thanks for being PAWSitive
Tigers demonstrating PAWSitive behavior are nominated to have their names added to our WOW Board. WOW Board members are then eligible to win a fun brag tag and Buddy Pass. The Buddy Pass entitles each WOW Board member to enjoy lunch on the stage with a buddy of his/her choice.
This photo is of our WOW Board #2 for the 2025-2026 school year. Congratulations, Tigers!
No School for Tigers on Monday, September 22!
Keeping Tigers & the 'Hood Safe
If you need to make or receive a call/text while driving, please use the legal, hands-free method of cell phone use or pull over to the curb and park to complete the call/text. It's important to be mindful of the traffic, roads, and pedestrians everywhere. No call or text is as important as our Tigers.
Also, please park in our parking lots. If they happen to be full, please park on pavement next to a curb being careful not to block our neighborhood mailboxes. Please do not park on grassy medians to avoid damaging the neighborhood irrigation systems.
Thanks for your cooperation!
Attention LTISD Parents and Guardians:
The Discovery Program, otherwise known as Gifted and Talented, is now accepting parent referrals for GT Screening via:
Transfer students, who were already identified as GT in their previous district, should submit their Google form as soon as possible, as the transfer student screening will be set within 30 days of the first day of school. Parents should send proof of their child's selection/participation in the previous GT program directly to the campus GT coordinator.
Parents can submit referrals for screening through the entire first 9-weeks, with a deadline of October 16, 2025. Students in Grades 1-5 will be tested during the 2nd 9 weeks of instruction. If the referral and permission forms are not submitted by the deadline (October 16,) the student will have to wait until the next year's screening opportunity, as the spring screening session is only for students who have transferred to the district after the fall testing window is closed.
Kindergarten students can be referred for GT testing beginning in January 2026. More details will be shared regarding this process at the beginning of the 2nd semester.
The forms and further information about the program can be found here. Once the request is submitted through the appropriate Google form, our campus GT coordinator, Erin Wyatt, will contact parents via email after October 16 to share pertinent information.
The district will host a virtual parent meeting on September 19 at 11:30 am to share information regarding the program and the elementary G/T referral process. Join the meeting HERE. You are also welcome to contact your campus GT coordinator, Erin Wyatt, at any time with questions.
Thank you for reporting dismissal changes in Smart Tag!
On Fridays, we invite Tigers to wear LT gear.
On Wednesday, September 10, we wear RED.
On Mondays, we invite Tigers to wear WCHE gear.
Reading is COOL!!!!
Kinder, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Graders are Invited to
join the Monthly Reading Challenges!
4th & 5th Graders are invited to participate in the Bluebonnet Reading Program
An Opportunity to Meet Dr. Null!
Can't make it in person? No worries! We will live stream the event on our PTO Facebook page.
We have a new campus visitor/volunteer security system that requires your photo ID to be scanned each time you need to obtain a visitor or volunteer badge for building entry. The good news is that you no longer have to take the time to type in your name at the visitor kiosks, and the system prints your badge in a matter of seconds. The bad news is that you must have your photo ID and scan it every time you come because, for security purposes, this new system does not retain your ID information.
Parents Welcome to our Tiger Rally 9/12 @ 7:40 am!
Be sure to bring your photo ID!

Did you know?
Missing 10% of learning time, about 2 days each month, over the course of a school year can make it harder to
- gain early reading and math skills
- build relationships
- develop good attendance habits.
Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Start building this habit in elementary so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day, is important.
As we look ahead to the next school year please keep in mind our long weekends/student holidays.
