Dear Bedford Public School Community,

Given recent events, this message departs from my typical focus on the district’s strategic initiatives, as I believe it’s important to address a matter that is already part of our community conversations. Yesterday, the School Committee issued a statement regarding an ongoing investigation and held an information session about the review process it has chosen to use. I want to express my sincere appreciation to the Committee for their dedication to fairness, thoroughness, and due process for all parties.

I recognize that this situation has stirred strong emotions for many staff, families, students, and for everyone involved. It is important that we respect those feelings while also remembering that public narratives often do not tell the full story or the dynamics that shape them. It can be easy to focus on what’s most visible, but it’s just as important to remain curious about what cannot be shared due to confidentiality. I appreciate the community’s continued patience and encourage everyone to reserve judgment as we await a resolution.

The BPS team remains focused on teaching and learning, student well-being, and supporting one another. Our community is at its best when we face challenges together with a steadfast commitment to our core values.

Best,

Cliff Chuang 莊 宏 毅

Superintendent, Bedford Public Schools

HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Families living on base with students enrolled in Bedford High School have until Oct. 31 to complete and submit the 2025-2026 Federal Impact Aid Survey for federally connected students. Information gathered through the survey process determines Bedford’s eligibility for federal impact aid funding. The forms are confidential, and the information collected is available only to school and federal officials. Click here to read more.

Emails were sent to families via Docusign on October 1st. Please help us identify all federally connected students whose families are Active-Duty Military, live on Hanscom AFB, OR work on federal facilities---including Hanscom AFB, Bedford VA, Boston VA, Lincoln Public School on HAFB, Lincoln Labs, Mitre and more! Our yearly survey is fully electronic with e-signature. It is very important that all surveys are completed and electronically signed for each student, as reimbursement is made for all eligible students on a per pupil basis. You may request a paper survey copy. We thank you very much for your assistance with this important annual survey. Please contact the Business Office with questions: (781) 275-7708.
