Monitoring Your Student’s Chromebook Over the Summer

All students will keep their chromebooks this summer.

Each student should have in their possession:

  • a chromebook

  • a chromebook case that is on the chromebook

  • a charger

Monitor Your Student’s Chromebook Use

Every parent/guardian can sign up for Securly which will provide alerts to parents regarding content that might be concerning. Visit the district website to learn how to sign up for Securly.

Digital Citizenship and Safety

Do you know what your child is posting online? Do you know who they are communicating with? We encourage parents/guardians to monitor their student’s technology usage by talking to your child about their digital footprint (what social media accounts they have, how they communicate with others, etc).

Here is one example of a site that has resources for parents and students. There are many other sites on the internet that provide resources for parents.

3 x 3 Basketball Tournament, Hoop for Austin, August 16

Our Bobcat family misses Austin who was a 7th grader at Sumner Middle School when he passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2023. This outdoor 3 x 3 basketball tournament is in loving memory of Austin Turley. Austin had an undeniable passion for sports, especially basketball, and an unwavering pride in Sumner. Austin was known for his loyalty, fierce competitiveness, and the love he had for his family and friends.

There is a three game minimum guarantee and includes t-shirts for each participant if registered by July 31. Proceeds from this event will go towards the Austin Robert Turley Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship was created to honor Austin’s legacy and give back to the community he loved.

In the words of Austin, “Let’s go”!
