Rawlinson Summer Parent Newsletter
A message from Mireles...
Hello, Patriot Families,
Bravo to our wonderful Rawlinson students for a job well done this year.
As the summer begins, we are already gearing up for the 2027-28 school year. The work to complete next year's calendar of events is well underway, and just the planning of such events has our staff excited about the possibilities.
Please see the items below; we have various activities and events throughout the summer for Rawlinson students.
Have a great summer break.
Sincerely,
Sherry Mireles

ALL STUDENTS NEED!!!!
FOR ALL-STUDENTS: COMPLETE STUDENT VERIFICATION IN HAC
To ensure your child is counted in our total number of Rawlinson students for next year and to have their returning student registration complete, please be sure you complete the Student Data Verification as soon as possible!
Step 1: Log into your PARENT HAC account (Home Access Center). ***This must be done in your parent account, not your student account.
(HAC INFO: Home Access Center (HAC) If you do not have a HAC account, information on how to obtain one can be found here: http://www.nisd.net/parents. Scroll down towards the middle of the page under the 2 blue boxes until you see Home Access Center, there you can create a HAC account or report problems with an existing account. If you need to reset your password or user name, click here Home Access Center (HAC) and then click on forgot user name or password. If you need assistance completing this process, please do not hesitate to contact our office, we are happy to walk through the process with you.)
Step 2: Click on the icon/button that says Registration at the top
Step 3: Click on the tab that says Update Enrollment
Step 4: Complete the information for your child. Note: if you have multiple children at different campuses, (once in HAC) there is a drop down menu at the upper right hand corner that gives you the option to toggle between each child. The system will recognize information and give you the option to pre-fill much of the information.

ATTENTION ADVANCED READING/ ENGLISH STUDENTS
Congratulations to your child for choosing to participate in the Northside Independent School District Adv. ELA Rawlinson course. An important part of this academic program is summer reading, which offers an opportunity for enrichment in reading and writing.
Students will need to read one book (fiction or nonfiction). If your student is not in an Advanced ELA class, they are welcome and encouraged to participate in the Summer Reading activity as well. Below are links to access lists of book titles to help your child decide on a book. Students MAY NOT select a picture book, or a book that they have read, or a book that was taught in their previous ELA classes. Summer reading novels need to be read by the end of August. They will be given three weeks to work on their assignment after returning to school.
We are excited to see what great books our students will be selecting to read over the summer. When students return to school this fall, they will be given a menu board and they will be selecting one activity to complete with their summer reading book. Students are responsible for obtaining a copy of the book they choose.
