The Muraski Tribune: Issue 11
Back to School Information
Attention Muraski Families
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are gearing up for the holiday season. We have Thanksgiving break coming up next week, where students are off school from Wednesday, November 26th, through Sunday, November 30th.
It is important to note that the end of the first Trimester was on Friday, November 14th, meaning we start Trimester 2 today, Monday, November 17th. Grades will be finalized by November 19th, therefore, you should be able to view those in Powerschool very soon.
Enjoy the coming season with friends and families. Often times, it feels like everyone is constantly rushing around. Make sure that you are finding time to press pause and enjoy how special these times are with our children and families.
Sincerely,
Mike Griffen
Mustang Market Experiences
Our Muraski Model Mustangs have been working hard showing, and spreading, PRIDE by being prepared, respectful, inclusive, determined, & engaged.
As a result of their hard work, they got to choose from a variety of incentives including a Pizza Party with the Principals, a special visit with our friends at Caring Angels K-9s, a visit to our school book machine, and more!
We are proud of our mustangs and look forward to next month's incentives including the addition of a Hot Cocoa Bar and preferred cafeteria seating.
Pathways Caring for Children Donation Drive
We have partnered with Pathways Caring for Children to collect items for students being placed in foster care. Often these children are placed with their foster families with very little or no belongings. We are collecting various items to spread joy to these children in need.
Our donation drive will run from November 17th thru December 5th.
If you have any questions please reach out to our school counselor, Mrs. Denise Schlueter.
Thank you for your support and generosity as we enter the holiday season.
Child Nutrition Information (LAST TIME)
Dear Strongsville City Schools Parents/Guardians:
Due to the shutdown of the federal government, federal funding for many important child nutrition programs has been affected.
If your child’s meal status is Free or Reduced for school breakfast and lunch, there is nothing you need to do. Your child will keep the same benefit status for the entire school year and state funding for these programs is secure through the end of December.
If your family has recently lost SNAP and/or WIC benefits, you may reach out to the Strongsville Emergency Food Bank located at 13259 Pearl Road in Strongsville, or contact them by phone at 440-580-3280. Local chapters of the Cleveland and Cuyahoga County Food Banks may also provide support and resources:
As always, if your family’s financial status has changed due to the government shutdown or any other reason, we encourage you to complete a Free and Reduced Meal Application online at payschoolscentral.com. It is never too late to complete the application.
Our District remains committed to the well-being of all of our families. We are closely monitoring this situation and have staff available who may be able to assist in connecting you with the appropriate resources. Please reach out to your school if you are in need of food assistance.
