Course Selection for 25-26
The course selection process for the 2025-2026 school year has started! Students received materials last week, and at this time should be talking with parents, teachers, and friends about what courses to sign up for. Students currently in grade 7 should turn their completed forms in to Mrs. Shannon Clark by Friday, April 11. Students currently in grades 8-11 should be prepared to enter their selections into Focus during class meetings on April 16 (grades 9-11) and April 17 (grade 8). See below for some exciting news about our increasing opportunities to earn college credit for high school students!
Expanding College Credit Opportunities
- College Literature & Composition - can earn 3 credits in SNHU's LIT100 - Introduction to Literature
- College Calculus - can earn 3 credits in SNHU's MAT225 - Calculus I
- College Human Anatomy & Physiology - can earn 4 credits in SNHU's BIO210 & BIO210L - Introduction to Anatomy & Physiology with Lab
- and we are awaiting approval for College US History - can earn 6 credits in SNHU's HIS113 and HIS114
Each of these classes has a registration fee of $100 ($125 for the Anatomy class) payable directly to SNHU in the fall. This fee is around the same price as the AP test in these subjects would be.
This is in addition to our long-standing dual enrollment courses with Berkshire Community College in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Statistics, Spanish, and English Composition. We also offer AP courses in Computer Science, Physics C: Mechanics, Environmental Science, French, and Seminar. (Students in the college dual enrollment courses can also choose to take the AP tests in those subjects.) Additionally, both BCC and MCLA locally offer online and in-person courses to juniors and seniors.
While there is no guarantee that a college or university will accept transfer credits, most do -- and earning college credits in high school can be a huge financial savings in college by decreasing the amount of time it takes to earn a degree. Please contact your student's counselor with any questions.
Lock It Up!
