MESSAGE FROM MS LINDA

Tēnā koutou katoa. Nau mai ki te whānau o te Oratia. Talofa lava. Malo e lelei. Zdravo. Ni hao. Namaste. Kamusta. Greetings Oratia whānau and families.

IT'S SHOW WEEK!

What an exciting and busy week we are having. The children coming into school on Wednesday were so happy and really looking forward to their performances. Our evening shows are sold out, the matinee was close to full, and we thank everyone for your support. From costumes and hairdo's, to helping out with green rooms and the kitchen(thank you PTA), to pick ups and drop offs - we thank you for all you have done to get our children ready for the shows. This is an amazing production written and directed by Kerensa MacKinnon and Hayley Bamborough. All the children in the school, and all the staff, have been involved in some way, and I am certain that this producation will be a core memory for everyone here at Oratia School for their lifetimes. It is such a privilege to be a part of it all.

My thanks to all our staff and parents who have worked with our students leading up to the performances - props creation, stage hands, rehearsal practices, singing training, costume making, the list goes on.... Special thanks to Peter and Glenys Taylor for our lighting and sound, and stage management and creative input. The directors are so appreciative of your unending support. Thank you to Michelle, and the team in the office, for handling all the ticketing details. And to Matt Moncur for his amazing and quiet competence with the sound and IT desk. Please forgive me if I have not mentioned an area that you have been a part of - just know that we here at school are so thankful to you all for all you have done to help make this production a reality.

There is a lot of illness moving through the school, so thanks to those parents who are managing that in amongst the performances! Take that Vitamin C and stay warm.

Kia kaha, kia atawhai.

Ngā mihi nui, Ms Linda

School Productions are about so much more than the final performance. They build confidence, teamwork, resilience, creativity and a sense of belonging, while giving children the chance to challenge themselves and create something wonderful together.

PHOTOLIFE CLASS AND TEAM PHOTOS

If you have ordered class or team photos from Photolife, they are now available to collect from the school office. We’d really appreciate it if parents could collect photos from the office where possible, as we’d hate for them to get squashed or bent in school bags!

Any photos not collected by next Wednesday will be sent home with children.
