GLES PTA Weekly Update

A huge thank you to everyone who responded to the dessert and wine call, we're so grateful for your generosity!

With the event happening this weekend, we’re looking for one more volunteer to serve as a live scribe from 7–9 PM. It’s a fun and easy role: you’ll get to sit back, enjoy the program, have a meal, and record the winning bid numbers. As a bonus, you’ll also receive free entry to enjoy the reception beforehand.

STEM Fair (for science, technology, engineering and math) will be on Friday, April 10 during the school day! No need to prepare anything at home or in advance. Kids will visit this open-house style fair with their class, where they can build, test, measure, and celebrate science in hands-on activities and demonstrations!

But to run this event, we need volunteer power! Can you help for a couple hours on Friday April 10? No STEM experience required, we'll set you up with everything you need. We’d love to have different languages represented too!

Volunteer Shift 1 (2nd and 5th Grades): 8:45-11am

Shift 2 (3rd and Kindergarten): 10:45am-1pm

Shift 3 (1st and 4th Grades): 1-3:45pm

In order to run the lessons we need:

• Chaperones - walk with the class to and from Evans Pool
• Locker room monitors - keep an eye on the students in the locker rooms before and after lessons
• In-water assistants - help the swimmers practice their skills

Chaperones will walk the students to and from the school, meeting at the classroom at 9:00, returning to GLES by 10:30. Locker room helpers and in-water assistants can arrive at Evans Pool at 9:15 and leave with the students at 10:15, or walk down with the class.
