A Message from Principal Woofter
What an exciting month January has been!
Thank you to all those who came out for our Bingo Night! We had a packed house and it was fun to see everyone enjoying the game and cheering on the winners. Our PAC team did a great job securing exciting prizes, setting up the space, and making popcorn. Our Bingo caller, Ron, kept the games moving and the audience laughing. A big thanks to all those who made the event happen for our school family!
Last Friday, we had our Archer Glen Spelling Bee! We had 13 contestants in 4th and 5th grade qualify for our school Spelling Bee. After an exciting back and forth between our two finalists, Louisa Barbour (4th) and Jack McKeaney (5th), Jack came out as our school winner and will represent Archer Glen at the Regional Spelling Bee in February. A big congratulations to all our Spelling Bee participants!
Next week, we will begin our winter MAP Growth Assessment window for ELA and Math which will run from February 2nd through the 13th. Information regarding this valuable assessment is linked HERE. You should be receiving additional information regarding the MAP Assessment from your student's teacher in their newsletter.
A couple other important reminders: we have a PAC Dine Out next week at Prime Taphouse on Tuesday evening! A great way to enjoy a delicious meal without the cleanup! Additionally, Talent Show applications are due by Friday, February 13. If a student is performing a song, the lyrics must be included with the application. Feel free to call the front office with any questions!
Kindly,
Sarah

Dental Screenings
Dear Parents/Guardians
On Friday, February 20, 2026, we will be giving a free dental screening to children age seven and younger who do not have a dental certificate on file or have not had a dental screening – this is a service that the Sherwood School District has been providing for many years and meets Oregon mandates. Many of you have already turned in a form to the school to say that your child has been to your family dentist -- if you have done so, your child will not be screened at school. If you want to opt-out of the dental screening for your child, please contact your school office. We will send the dental screening notes home to you in backpack mail in case you need to follow up with your family dentist.
We appreciate our wonderful local dentists who volunteer their time to do the dental screenings. This year the following professionals will be doing the screenings: Dr. Bittner of Bittner Dentistry for Kids
Good dental care contributes to the overall good health of our students! If you have any questions regarding the screening, please call our Health Services at 503-825-5093 or health@sherwood.k12.or.us.
