Thank You for a Great Year!
Our final week of the 2025–2026 school year has been filled with celebration, pride, and more than a few bittersweet moments. On Tuesday, we will come together as a school community for our final assembly, where we will enjoy a special performance from our kindergarten students, hear from our outgoing and incoming flag bearers, and join together in singing the Lilja School song. At the end of the day, we will also gather to clap out our fourth graders as they begin the next chapter of their educational journey beyond Lilja.
As we head into summer, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to our entire staff for the care, dedication, and hard work they have shown in supporting our students and families throughout the year. I would also like to thank Ms. Eastham, Ms. Stacey, and Ms. Quimby for their contributions to the Lilja community and wish them all the best as they move on to new opportunities.
I will share two newsletters over the summer—one in late July and another in mid-August—with staffing updates and information as we prepare to begin the 2026–2027 school year. Until then, I wish all of our Lilja families a safe, restful summer filled with opportunities for fun, connection, and making lasting memories together. ☀️💙🦁
Best,
Dr. Marscher

Things to Know
REPORT ON STUDENT PROGRESS (ROSP):
ROSPs will be accessible to families via Powerschool on June 23rd at 3pm. Directions can be viewed here.
**Please be sure to print or save your students' ROSP as your access to this information will close on July 15th, and we are aware that some sports (e.g.. football and cheerleading) require this information for participation!**
CLASS PLACEMENTS FOR THE 26-27 SCHOOL YEAR:
We will be continuing to finalize class placements for the next school year through June and July. Families will receive a notification in late July on how to access class assignments in Powerschool.
DON'T FORGET TO READ THIS SUMMER!
Research consistently shows that children who read regularly over the summer maintain and strengthen the literacy skills they developed during the school year, while those who do not read may experience the “summer slide,” a loss of reading proficiency that can make the transition back to school more challenging. Just 15–20 minutes of daily reading can help students build vocabulary, improve comprehension, strengthen fluency, and develop a lifelong love of reading.
Summer reading does not have to feel like schoolwork. Families can build reading into their routines by setting aside a consistent daily reading time, encouraging children to choose books that match their interests, and incorporating visits to the local library or listening to audiobooks during car rides and family outings. Small, consistent reading habits can make a big difference in helping children stay engaged and confident readers all year long.
The Lilja PTO is looking for a VP next year! This person will shadow and learn the President's role and (hopefully) take over the following year.
No experience is needed and support will be provided along the way!
