Friday Focus - 1-30-2026 Friday Focus - 1-30-2026

Dear Westwoods Families,

The winter chill has certainly arrived, but it hasn't slowed us down! It has been wonderful to see our hallways buzzing with energy and our classrooms filled with focused, high-level learning. Even when it’s freezing outside, our students are bringing the heat academically.

Here are a few important updates as we navigate the winter season:

As the temperatures drop, please ensure your child comes to school prepared for outdoor recess. Coats, hats, gloves, and sturdy boots make a world of difference. We want our students to stay warm and safe while they get that much-needed fresh air when the temperatures are above zero.

Looking for a way to embrace the snow? Our fantastic PTO is hosting a community sledding event this weekend! It’s a great chance to reconnect with friends and enjoy the season.

  • When: This Sunday, February 1st
  • Time: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
  • Where: Twin Lakes Park

Grab your sleds, bundle up, and we hope to see a great Westwood turnout on the hills!

Thank you for your continued support in making Westwood a warm and welcoming place to learn, regardless of the thermostat.

Warmly,

Toby Tisdale

Principal
