SAVE THE DATE! FUN RUN
Redwood Fun Run
Our 2nd Redwood Fun Run is set for Tuesday May 27th, 2025! We are beyond thrilled to kick off another amazing Fun Run Event!
What is the Redwood School Fun Run?!
The Redwood School Fun Run is a 11 day program and is this semester’s biggest fundraiser, taking place on 05/27/2025. Families will be getting donations for the laps their student completes at the Redwood School Fun Run. Funds raised from this event go towards providing continued assemblies for our students, family community events, staff appreciation, and more! Our goal is to raise $16,000.00. Students will also have the opportunity to earn tons of prizes along the way for both themselves and their classrooms! More details to come on all of the prizes.
Registration details as well as parent sign up opportunities to participate in the Fun Run Event will be sent out in May, so no worries about registering your student(s) now.
This week your student(s) will be bringing home a Booster Frequently Asked Questions Sheet as well as a Business Sponsorship Form to ensure we are providing everyone with all of the details ahead of time, to get our students, families, friends, and our community excited!
Looking for a way to support the fundraiser before the fun begins?
Make sure to review our Business Sponsorship Form! We are so grateful to all of the businesses and families that partnered with us last year. Not only did you ensure that every student and staff member had a shirt for the event, but you additionally contributed towards our fundraising goal.
The primary component of our Community Business Partners Program is our Event shirt for our upcoming Fun Run, as we work to again provide one shirt for every student and staff member, as well as reach our fundraising goal of $16,000.00 towards our school! Your logo or name will be displayed on the shirt worn by over 400 students year-round, providing continuous exposure for your business! Please see the sponsorship information attached for pricing and details. We are asking that all donations (checks) be given by March 31st, 2025 as well as logos sent to mpyzoha589@yahoo.com, so that we can ensure your business is featured on our Fun Run shirt design.
If you have any questions about donating, please feel free to reach out to Morgan Stricker via text/cell at (440)669-8381 or email at mpyzoha589@yahoo.com.
Looking forward to another amazing event with our Redwood Community!

Electronic Student Devices - cell phones and watches
As more students bring cell phones and watches with wi-fi and data capabilities, it is
important to remember and inform your children about the policy of using them while at
school. During school hours, students must keep the phone in the locker/cubby or
backpack and have it turned off. If a parent needs to contact their child or a child needs
to contact a parent, that communication must go through the school and in most cases
the main office. Watches are another area where communication may occur if wi-fi or
data are enabled. Students may wear watches and use the watches for time telling
purposes or tracking their steps and other non-communication purposes. However, if
students and parents are using the watch to call and text each other, those devices will
be viewed more for communication and will be asked to be put away each day like a cell
phone. Thank you for your attention to this matter and following these rules.
Notes From the Nurse
Notes from the Nurse:
I am starting to see an increase in Flu A positive in our students. Lorain County is reporting that the seasonal influenza this week and last week is HIGH (link for the report: https://odh.ohio.gov/know-our-programs/seasonal-influenza/influenza-dashboard). As per school policy, students should be fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication before returning to school. Other symptoms to consider for the flu would be: persistent cough, ear pain, sore throat, headache and fatigue. Please reach out to your building nurse for further questions.

Back -to-School-Forms
Looking Ahead
Over the summer months you will receive an email notifying you to complete your student's back-to-school forms via your PowerSchool Parent Account. All forms are to be completed prior to the first day of school. This is a one-stop shop for updating your child’s emergency and medical information as well as signing off on the annual permission forms for school district policies.
If you have more than one child in the school system, you only need one PowerSchool Parent Account. All of your children, regardless of building attendance, are to be added to your one account BEFORE you start completing the back-to-school forms.
If you have any questions about your PowerSchool Parent Account, please contact:
- Maria Szarek - (440) 933-4829 or
- Theresa Martin - (440) 933-0984
