Riverwood's Top 5
August 28, 2026
Welcome to Mrs. Rivera’s Newsletter, Riverwood’s Top 5
Top 5 Things to Know About Your Child’s Classroom
1. What Are We Learning? Your child’s teacher will keep you informed about the important skills and standards students are working on. Ask your child, “What are you learning?” rather than just “How was school?” This helps children see themselves as learners and take ownership of their growth.
2. What Are Our Classroom Expectations? Every classroom has PBIS expectations for being Safe, Responsible, and Respectful. Students will learn what these expectations look and sound like in their classroom and throughout the school. Consistency helps students feel safe and ready to learn.
3. How Will We Communicate? Your child’s teacher will share important classroom information, upcoming events, learning updates, and reminders. Please make sure you are checking the communication methods your child’s teacher uses. When school and home communicate regularly, students benefit!
4. How Is My Child Doing? Teachers regularly monitor student progress through classroom work, assessments, observations, and other data. We want every child to Level Up from where they started. If your child needs additional support or enrichment, we will work together to make a plan.
5. How Can We Work Together? The most successful classrooms are built on strong partnerships between teachers, students, and families. If you have a question or concern, please reach out to your child’s teacher first. We are all on the same team, and our shared goal is for your child to feel known, valued, supported, and challenged.

FROM THE NURSE’S OFFICE - Mrs. Paolini
The Mobile Dentist is coming to Riverwood!
We have invited the SMILE Dental program to return to Riverwood School! The dental team will be here in early September to perform dental exams & cleanings, fluoride and dental sealants applied as needed.
You must enroll your child to be seen. Paper enrollment forms went home this week and can be returned to the nurse. You can also enroll at: https://www.myschooldentist.com If your child has Medicaid, coverage may be available; most dental insurance is accepted. A self pay option is also available for any student without dental insurance coverage. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Paolini RWnurse@d15.org or call 779-244-1404. We are happy to make this service available for our students! Together we can keep children in school, healthy & learning!
