Important Kindergarten Dates

• Monday, August 24 | Back-to-School Open House 5:00–6:30 p.m.
Come meet the Centennial Kindergarten Team and learn more about the exciting year ahead! We can't wait to see you and answer any questions you may have.

Please hold onto your school supplies until the final teacher assignment.

• Wednesday, August 26 & Thursday, August 27 | Kindergarten Assessment Days

Kindergarten students will attend for their scheduled assessment time rather than a full school day. Families will use this link to sign up for a time to come to the school.

https://www.ptcfast.com/schools/Centennial

• Friday, August 28 | First Full Day of Kindergarten

All kindergarten students will attend school for the full day as we begin an exciting year of learning, growing, and making new friends.

Each student will be assigned a color instead of a classroom teacher to start the year. Your color is in the email subject line.

Our Classroom Placement Process

During the first week of school, all kindergarten students will have the opportunity to spend time learning with each of our kindergarten teachers. This special rotation gives our team the chance to get to know every child—their learning style, strengths, interests, and how they interact with classmates.

After getting to know each student, our kindergarten team will thoughtfully create balanced classrooms. We believe taking this extra time helps us make the very best placement for each student and creates strong classroom communities from the very beginning. Once we have finalized our classrooms, families will receive an email with their child's assigned kindergarten homeroom teacher.

This is for ALL students, including incoming Kindergarteners. If you cannot make it at your designated time slot, feel free to come during the alternate time.

Bussing & Tags

Bus assignments will come from the bus company directly. If you didn't get yours, feel free to use this link to look up your bus route.

If you still have your student(s)' bus tag from last school year, please keep them on their backpacks or move them to the new one. We will be getting tags again this year, but do not know if they will be here before school starts.

Free and Reduced Lunch Application

Reminder: School meals will no longer be free to all students this year. Please make sure you fill out the application for free and reduced meals at www.EZMealApp.com. You can fill out one application for your entire household. If you qualify, this can also waive various school fees as well.

Milk for Classroom Breaks To Be Discontinued

Milk for classroom breaks will not be offered at our elementary schools next year. Currently, approximately 40% of the cost of the milk program is funded by the Fargo Public Schools. Due to declining resources, the program is no longer feasible to continue. In addition, school staff have reported significant milk waste, making the program no longer sustainable. Students will continue to have access to drinking water following their school’s guidelines. The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program will continue to be offered at qualifying buildings and is typically provided during classroom breaks.
