"What Makes You Happy?"
To kick off the school year in Art, students across all grade levels were asked, “What makes you happy?” They then designed a smiley face disguised as something that brings them joy - whether it was a favorite person, animal, activity, place, or experience. It has been so much fun seeing all of their happy faces come together! We hope their artwork reminds everyone to slow down, find joy, and make time for what makes you happy!a

First Day of School
Opening day was full of excitement and curiosity. Our PBIS Team had colorful signs out front to greet the students and the main hallway was decked out to welcome everyone as well. The children were very happy to meet their teachers and find their new classrooms, and the early dismissal days enabled everyone to ease back into the school routine. This summer our building was upgraded with all new doors which not only brightened up the building, but improved security. Teachers had many creative activities planned for the first week and the students also learned about expectations and routines throughout the building, in the cafeteria and on the playground. We are all looking forward to a positive and successful school year.

Classroom Chronicles
Second grade kicked off the school year with their new ELA curriculum. In reading, students learned about how the seasons change. Specifically, we spoke about how the seasons were transitioning from summer to autumn (fall), and observed the physical changes in the leaves outside on a nature walk.
Our third graders had a great day learning about geography in Social Studies! Students created their own Earth models to explore the different features of our planet and build their understanding of geography. What a fun way to learn!
Mrs. Kraiza’s class made instant pudding for “Fun Friday”. They practiced reading, sequencing, following directions, measuring, counting, communication, problem-solving, and functional
independence while following a recipe.
