Registration fee is $25 and includes a t-shirt. Seniors can walk and run for FREE with a checkout coupon code. The last day for t shirt orders is 10/12. If seniors would like a t-shirt those will discounted to $10. All proceeds go to the Coleson Vaughn Scholarship Fund.

Alive at 25 is course required to have your full license. We have an in person class on October 27th from 3:30-7:30. Click on the link below to register.

This is highly competitive but we have students chosen every year. These are the highest performing students in the state of Kentucky and they choose close to 1,000 each year. We are able to send 4 applications from BMHS. There are no minimum requirements besides the application. The application is long so do not wait until the last minute. The deadline is tentatively for December 16, 2026. I encourage you to retake the ACT in either October or December. Those scores should be back in time for the committee meeting at the beginning of January. If you need help signing up for that please reach out to Mrs. Curran and we can get that taken care of!

This is a newer program for me. There are not as many academic requirements but do not think that means less of the program. It is still an awesome opportunity with tremendous scholarship opportunities.

This is a program through Murray State University. You receive 2 college classes while there as well. If you are selected and complete CHA you will receive free tuition for all 4 years at MSU. You do have to have at least a 3.5 GPA and 25 ACT. You can be chosen if you have below a 25 ACT but must have the 25 to receive full tuition. I encourage you to retake the ACT in either October or December. If you need help signing up for that please reach out to Mrs. Curran and we can get that taken care of! At this time I have not been made aware of what the SAT score will need to be.

Gatton Academy Information

Each year, The Gatton Academy admits approximately 95 Kentucky sophomores, half of selection male and half of selection female, based on standardized test scores, their GPA, responses to essay questions, personal interviews, extracurricular activities and recommendations.

Instead of spending their junior and senior years in traditional high schools, students enroll in The Gatton Academy and live in a uniquely dedicated Gatton Academy residence hall.

Taking courses offered by WKU, their classmates are fellow Gatton Academy students and WKU undergraduate students.

At the end of two years, Gatton Academy students will have earned between sixty and seventy-two college credit hours in addition to completing high school.

Academy graduates may choose to stay at WKU or transfer to other universities to complete their bachelor's degrees.

Gatton Academy students' scholastic test scores and nationally recognized achievements such as state assessment scores, ACT/SAT scores, and national merit awards will be credited to the home high school.

Academy students will be able to participate in their home high school senior class ceremonies.

Craft Academy provides students with a postsecondary residential experience to complete their junior and senior years of high school by enrolling in college courses. It is housed on the campus of Morehead State University, which is consistently ranked as one of the safest campuses in the Commonwealth.

The Academy opened in August 2015, with the goal of meeting the unique educational needs of academically gifted and talented high school juniors and seniors in the Commonwealth. A college-level curriculum allows students to finish high school while also completing up to two years of university coursework.

The academic rigor of the Craft Academy challenges students to excel at their highest level. Study is focused on a core of math and science courses and supplemented by electives in the arts and humanities.

Additionally, we offer unique, project-based STEM+X courses that enrich our students’ educational experiences and help them develop competencies in entrepreneurship and innovation, design and creativity, and civic and regional engagement.

This is an ACT Workshop in Paducah. I have heard wonderful things about it. The cost is $350 I believe but has proven results. If you have a reduced fees/fee waiver with the school you could qualify for a reduced rate.

During the Admissions Presentation, we will discuss:

1. What West Point Offers: Learn why West Point stands as a premier institution for leadership development, academic excellence, and character growth.
2. Life as a Cadet: Gain insights into the daily life of a West Point Cadet, including academics, athletics, and leadership training.
3. The Application Process: Understand the steps to apply to West Point and gather valuable tips to enhance your application.

The ASVAB will be offered at BMHS. I do not really know the date yet but will let everyone know. If you are interested or have any questions see Mrs. Curran.

Caps and gowns are discounted until 11/30. Also, do not be tricked into buying a big package. You are able to buy only the cap and gown if you would like.

Seniors! Below is the link to create the FAFSA ID's if you have not done so and completing the FAFSA. FAFSA opens 10/1!

Dates, scholarship and cost information. MSU will be here to complete FREE applications 9/10. I will update the information below as I get it but will leave it so you will have a basic idea on dates and costs.

Georgetown College has a new event this year being held on October 16th for students to receive scholarship bonuses at Georgetown. Every student who attends is guaranteed a $1,000 scholarship but has the opportunity to earn up to $4,000 in additional scholarship dollars.

Students who are eligible to attend Scholarship Competition Day meet the following criteria:

• Must have an unweight GPA of 3.0+
• Can not be receiving Legacy and Legends or Athletic offers from Georgetown College

For the competition, students will prepare a brief presentation, 4-8 minutes, on one of the following prompts:

• What you are studying and why you care about it
• A research project you hope to do while in college
• Something you hope to build or create while in college
• What you want your college education to help you do or become

Twin Teeth Family Dentistry in Paducah is opening a dental assisting program. It states it is open to high school seniors and starts this spring. I don't know if this is something you can go ahead and start or not. You can reach out to:

I am attaching information for the Computer Engineering Technology. This is covered under the Work Ready Scholarship so this will be free through WKCTC and then you move onto the UK College of Engineering.

If you need assistance with the application fee please see Mrs. Curran.

2- $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students from the state-at large and then one $750 scholarship will be awarded to Region 1.

I am not very familiar with this but it seems like it is for helping students from rural areas attend larger universities.

Local Scholarships can be found on the BMHS Guidance website. All local scholarships are due on March 28th. All scholarships are updated and under the "BMHS Local Scholarship Descriptions". Look at the upper right of that page you will see the local scholarship information. Some scholarships will be added so check this update periodically especially closer to time. All local scholarships are due March 26, 2027.
