A Few Words From the Principal

Today quarter one came to an end and we all celebrated the hard work done this first 9 weeks. We had a student vs staff volleyball game, a pep assembly organized by STUCO featuring our cheerleaders and 8th grade pep band where we recognized all of our fall sports (volleyball, football, and cross country). Teacher teams also planned a variety of activities to bring students together, build team work, and develop a positive culture. Teachers will be working on finalizing grades on Monday.

Tuesday we will start quarter 2 and we are looking forward to seeing the amazing things they do this quarter.

Good Things at MTMS Good Things at MTMS

On October 8th, 15 MTMS students attended our fall community service project. In one hour, we turned 600+ plastic shopping bags into two sleeping mats for the homeless! The plastic bags were woven together to create plastic ‘yarn’ that will keep some homeless people warmer in the wintertime. Thanks to all who participated, and please be on the lookout for more community service projects in the future!

This week, the Voyagers participated in a Day of Service. They sorted donations at The Starfish Project, packed over 6,000 hygiene products at Giving the Basics, and put together 280 food boxes for senior citizens at Harvesters. It was a great experience to give back to the community!

Flight and Space: Students wrapped up their drone unit by working in teams to complete flight challenges. They practiced yaw, pitch, roll, and the forces of flight while building their piloting, communication, and safety skills.
