Dear Northwood Families,

We hope you are enjoying the beautiful spring weather and the much needed rain again this weekend. Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our students and helping make our school a wonderful place to learn and grow.

This Tuesday, our students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will be taking the STAAR Reading test. We are expecting 100% attendance, as every minute of instruction and testing time is important. Please help your child be successful by ensuring they arrive at school on time, get a good night’s rest on Monday, and eat a healthy breakfast Tuesday morning. Your encouragement and support make a big difference in helping our students feel confident and prepared.

April is the Month of the Military Child, a time when we recognize and honor the sacrifices, strength, and resilience of children in military families. These students often face unique challenges, including frequent moves and time away from loved ones who are serving our country. On Wednesday, April 15, we will show our support by wearing purple. We invite everyone to join us in celebrating and thanking our military-connected students for their courage, flexibility, and strength.

Please continue encouraging your child to work hard and come to school every day. Your child’s presence matters, and we truly miss them when they are gone.

Thank you for your continued support, partnership, and commitment to our students’ success. Together, we can help every child finish the school year strong!

Warmly,
Mrs. Harper

School Lunch

We have a wonderful cafeteria that serves breakfast and lunch daily. This year meals are provided at no charge to ALL students as part of the Community Eligibility Program. Click THIS link to watch a short video about what is included on the school breakfast or lunch tray and what items are an extra charge.

If your child wants "extras" beyond the regular school tray, you need to add money to their cafeteria account by visiting schoolcafe.com or sending in a check or cash.

Visitors to Campus

School Absences

Our goal is for all of our students to maintain outstanding attendance (at least 95%).

The best way to learn is by being present at school and on time, ready to learn at 7:25 am every day! If your child needs to be absent due to illness, please be sure to send a note to school the day they return explaining the reason for the absence. Absences for illness and medical appointments will be excused with a written note. A student can have no more than 18 absences in order to recieve credit for the course/grade level.

Parent Pick Up will line up on the sidewalk near the marquee, with their dismissal tag and wait to be called.
