DRRHS Falcon Flash
October 9th, 2026
A Message from Mr. Demers
Dear DRRHS Families,
It has been another busy week here at 2700 Regional Road as we head into a well-deserved three-day weekend. Fall is always an especially active time at DRRHS, and our campus is certainly reflecting that energy. Here are a few highlights from the week:
A huge shoutout to our Girls Volleyball team for once again hosting its annual Dig Pink fundraiser. This event is always an incredible display of Falcon Spirit, as our traditional Green and Gold gives way to pink in support of an important cause. The money raised for the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation helps support ongoing efforts in the fight against breast cancer and moves us one step closer toward a cure. We are proud of our student-athletes for continuing this meaningful tradition.
Thank you to all of the parents and guardians who joined us for Parent/Teacher Conferences on Wednesday evening. It was great to see so many families in the building, connecting with teachers and supporting the success of their students. We greatly appreciate the partnership of our families and the important role they play in our school community.
Please help us spread the word about our 2nd Annual DRRHS Classic Car Show on October 24th. This promises to be another great day for the DRRHS community, and we hope to see students, families, staff, alumni, and community members out on campus enjoying the event together.
Finally, we would like to remind families that if a student needs to take a different bus home a note needs to come from a parent/guardian and brought to the office at the beginning of the day. The bus company requires both a note from home and a letter from the office to allow a student to have a different drop off in the afternoon.
As we head into the long weekend, we hope everyone has an opportunity to rest and recharge. This busy time of year is another great reminder that there truly is something for everyone at DRRHS.
Have a safe and restful three-day weekend!
With Falcon Pride,
Dustin Demers
Principal, DRRHS

Falcon Cup Nominations
We’re seeking our first Falcon Cup recipient of the 2026–27 school year!
As One Falcon Family, we want to celebrate the people who make our district special. Student, staff member, classroom, or DR group - who do you think deserves this recognition?
Activities Fair Information/Club and Advisor List
Student Government hosted a week long Back to School Activities fair highlighting the many opportunities for students to get involved with extracurricular activities. Each day they focused on a theme to encourage students to participate in the many different clubs that are offered at DR. Many clubs are holding their first meetings the next couple of weeks so be sure to listen to morning announcements to learn more or reach out to the club advisors for more details!
Student Parking/Drop Off Procedures
Morning bus/car drop off procedures for the 2026-2027 school year will be as follows:
- Dighton buses will drop off in the circle outside of the Superintendent's Foyer
- Rehoboth buses will drop off at the circle in front of the High School Main Office
- Students being dropped off via a vehicle will be dropped off in the circle outside of the Superintendent's Office. Students can be dropped off at the High School main office ONLY after busses have departed. Please do not drop your child off while busses are lined up outside of the high school main office. Students needing to be dropped off before buses have departed should drop off at the corner of the faculty parking lot and the high school entrance circle.
- Once buses are gone students arriving closer to 7:15 can be dropped off in front of the main office
Thank you for your flexibility with this system, this all keeps Regional Road safer for our students and families every morning.
Please note that afternoon pick up will remain exactly as it has been in previous years with families picking up at the corner where the staff lot meets the high school entrance circle.
Faculty Parking Lot
Please make sure you do not cut through the Faculty Parking Lot to avoid traffic before or after school. The Faculty Parking Lot should not be used as a shortcut for safety reasons. Thank you!
Important Policies
Attendance Policy
For student discipline purposes, an unexcused absence will constitute 1 attendance infraction; 2 unexcused tardies or dismissals, or any combination thereof, will constitute 1 attendance infraction.
On a day when a student has an unexcused absence, the student is ineligible to participate in a school-sponsored event, including athletics, on that day.
5 attendance infractions in a term will result in Saturday School.
Until the assigned Saturday School obligation is met, a student is not eligible to participate in extracurricular activities, including athletics. Additionally, if a Saturday School is assigned for disciplinary purposes and the student does not attend, they may also be subject to further disciplinary action, including but not limited to suspension from school.
Students who are tardy will NOT be permitted to bring food or drink purchased outside of school into the building.
Students with driving permits who exhibit persistent and/or excessive tardiness (more than 8 in a semester) to school will lose their driving privilege.
Student Cellphone and Electronic Device Policy
Adopted 9/22/26
The Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for all students. The District's mission to educate children is compromised when personal electronic devices create distractions that interfere with teaching, learning, and student engagement. While we recognize the important role technology plays in communication and connectivity, the District must balance those benefits with its responsibility to maintain an effective educational environment.
The success of this policy requires the support and collaboration of students, families, staff, and administrators. The District respects the decisions made by parents and guardians to provide their children with cell phones and other personal electronic devices; however, expectations for their use in school will vary based on students' developmental and educational needs.
Students who bring cell phones or other personal electronic devices to school do so at their own risk. Students and parents/guardians assume responsibility for any loss, damage, or theft of such devices. The District shall not be liable for lost, damaged, or stolen devices, including those confiscated in accordance with school rules or disciplinary procedures. All cellular phones and personal electronic devices brought to school must be used in accordance with District policies, school rules, and student handbooks.
The Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District does not provide a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) instructional environment. Students are expected to use District-issued devices for classroom learning and academic activities unless otherwise authorized.
Grades PK-12
The use of cell phones and personal electronic devices during the school day is prohibited. Devices brought to school must be powered off or silenced and kept out of sight for the duration of the school day unless expressly authorized by school administration.
Enforcement
Students who violate this policy may be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with applicable school and District disciplinary procedures. Consequences may include the temporary confiscation of devices, loss of privileges, parent/guardian notification, or restrictions on bringing personal electronic devices to school.
Each school level will establish procedures and expectations for implementation of this policy documented in the unified student handbook and code of conduct.
Administrative Review and Exceptions
The Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Principal, or designee may approve exceptions to this policy when deemed appropriate for educational, medical, safety, accessibility, emergency, or other legitimate school-related purposes. Requests for exceptions shall be subject to administrative review and approval. Access to personal electronic devices during the school day is a privilege that may be restricted or revoked when students fail to use such devices responsibly. The District reserves the right to interpret, implement, and apply this policy in a manner consistent with student needs, school operations, and applicable laws and regulations.

This spring DRRH will be offering AP testing through College Board. Please use this form as an agreement to take and pay for specific AP exams this spring. Each test will cost $100 ($55 for students who qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch) which will be charged through the unipay system which can be accessed HERE. Please note this fee is non-refundable after November 14th no exceptions. Students should also be logging into their AP Online Classroom and registering for each exam they are taking (their AP teacher should have given them a join code). If a student is choosing to not take the exam, they should fill that information out using the AP Classroom. The deadline to register for AP tests and fill out this agreement form is October 3rd. Please see Dr. Amaral with any questions.
Fall SATs now open to register! DR hosting Nov 7th and March 6th.
SAT® registration is now open for fall 2026. Many colleges require or consider SAT scores as part of their holistic admission and placement decisions, and your score is a great way to show colleges you’re ready. This year, it will be more convenient to take the SAT on your schedule, with dates available every month through the end of the year, beginning in August, and the ability to join the Waitlist if the date or test center you prefer is already filled.
Most juniors take their first SAT in the spring, and many take it again in the fall of their senior year to improve their score. The SAT can help you keep your college options open, demonstrate your unique strengths, and even qualify for scholarships. And with 100% free practice resources, now including enhanced tailored practice based on your prior test scores and free small-group tutoring, you’ll have everything you need to get prepared.

Culinary Arts
The CTE students are enjoying our new Culinary Arts program. In the Culinary Arts, students are not simply introduced to the foundational concepts that are the pillars of success in foodservice, they are entrusted to utilize those skills to create a simple, yet aesthetically pleasing dessert cup. They had a choice of Strawberry or Blueberry Compote, whipped cream, graham cracker crumbs, citrus zest & fresh mint. As students produce their own unique, elegant designs, they are practicing fundamental skills such as mise en place, critical thinking, food manipulation, safety, sanitation & hazard prevention. Some students eat their creations, others offer it to faculty. Most importantly, they get to experience food through a completely different lens…and then they get to EAT IT! Thank you Mr Collins for your enthusiastic way of teaching our students. We are excited to watch this program grow & make more delicious dishes.
