Kristen Noor, will be moving from her current role as Assistant Principal of Two Rivers/Dos Rios (TRDR) Elementary School to become the Principal of Centennial Elementary this next school year. Mrs. Noor was a teacher leader in Springfield Public Schools for eight years before moving into administration. She has been the Migrant Education Summer Program Principal since 2021. Her advocacy for students, instructional knowledge, and commitment to equitable outcomes are truly impressive. While we are sad to see her go, we know she is going to do an amazing job at Centennial! Congratulations, Mrs. Noor!

The process is currently underway for hiring a new Assistant Principal to support Two Rivers - Dos Rios next year and beyond. There will be more to come about the outcome of that process!

Springfield Public Schools is excited to announce the return of our in-person Kindergarten Welcome Night in May 2023! Incoming kindergartners and their caregivers are invited to come see our school, meet staff, and get prepared and excited for this important first step in their school career on Tuesday, May 2nd at 6:00pm! Online enrollment for students will open the first day of May and computers will be set up at Welcome Night to support families completing online registration. We look forward to seeing you there!

The fifth grade Two Rivers - Dos Rios Orchestra, under the direction of Music Director, Amy Danziger, will perform in a SPS district-wide fifth grade exhibition on Monday, May 15th in the Springfield High School gym at 6:30pm. Students should arrive at 6:00pm, and the concert will be over by 7:30pm. Please attend and support our terrific 5th graders!

This is a penultimate, climatic episode of our year-long narrative about building instructional target around further strengthening our positive school climate, and our strong reading instruction focus. Springfield High School will be hosting a large track and field invitational meet on Thursday, May 18th. This will significantly impact our student dismissal in the Silke-Field parking lot on this day. Please be prepared to expect delays during student pickup as the parking lot will be crowded with visiting high school track teams buses and family vehicles. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

Registration is NOW OPEN for Springfield Public Schools' SPARK camp in July! This four week camp is open to any SPS student currently enrolled in kindergarten through 7th grade.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided and limited transportation is available.

Families, we have had some close calls with pedestrians and traffic during our 2:50pm student pick-up time. Please remember, if you drive to the student pick-up and drive into the pick-up line, please remain in your car and be sure to move up ahead as cars pull out. Please do not get out of your car if you are in the pick-up line. If you need to exit your vehicle, please park in the parking spaces.

Please also follow the formal traffic flow shown in the attached map that was developed by our school district's Safe Routes to School Department in partnership with our school. Cars moving against the pick-up flow have had some close safety calls and impede the student pick-up. We really appreciate your attention to this. Thanks for helping keep all our students, families and staff safe.
