DROP-OFF/PICK-UP REMINDERS
Dear Families,
We want to share a few reminders with regard to parking around Lincoln Elementary School. While we understand the parking situation isn't ideal, for the safety and wellbeing of our staff and your children, PLEASE do not enter the front or back parking lots before school, at the end of the school day, or during school hours. The back parking lot and front main parking circle are for staff parking only. Also, the area directly in front on the school on West Wyoming is strictly for a live drop-off only. Please do not park your vehicle. Doing so creates additional traffic backups to an already congested area, and makes it harder for other families to drop their students off.
There are spaces on West Wyoming and on the adjacent side streets where parking is available. With that in mind, please take note of two things:
1. It is against Massachusetts state law to sit idling in your car for more than 5 minutes. If you are parked and waiting to drop-off or pick-up your student, please turn your engine off.
2. When parking on the adjacent side streets, please be sure that you are parked in a legal space. Take note of no parking signs, and please be respectful of our neighbors by not blocking their access to their homes/driveways.
**No Dogs on school property during school hours.**

News from our ELL Team
Hello Families!
The EL teachers at the Lincoln School have been working hard with your learners. We have been wrapping up the first unit of our Reach Curriculum and starting on a new unit with new questions, new skills and new vocabulary to support reading, writing, listening and speaking.
We are excited to share our first newsletter of the year! Click this link to find out about what is happening with Multilingual Learners across Melrose.
Included in the newsletter is a short survey. We want to hear from you and find out how we can best support you! Please fill out our short 6 question survey.
Also, we wanted to highlight this Wednesday November 15 from 7-8pm, there will be an ELPAC (EL Parent Advisory Council) Meeting. This is a chance for parents and caregivers to meet, connect and advise the school on your needs. Find out more in the newsletter. Click here to register.
We hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
Ms. Cooke, Mrs. Robbins, Ms. Coye and Ms. McLaughlin
PTO NEWS
The Lincoln PTO has hit the ground running planning some very fun events for the students and teachers this year. Enrichment programs, field trips and community events are being scheduled but cannot happen without your support! Our two biggest fundraisers are The Turkey Trot (Fun Run), which will take place on Friday, November 17th, and the Annual Appeal, which accepts donations throughout the year. Our Annual Appeal is an opportunity for our Lincoln families to pledge their support, whereas the Fun Run is an opportunity for students to ask extended family members to help support Lincoln School. Check out some fun events coming up at Lincoln in the next couple of months!
It's time to kick off Lincoln Elementary's 9th annual Turkey Trot Fun Run taking place on November 17th! Mark your calendar for a fun event that celebrates all Lincoln Elementary students and staff with an energetic morning outdoors. This is historically our largest fundraiser, and this year’s goal is to raise $25K for a big impact benefitting our students and staff. Use the link below to set-up your student's fundraising account and share with friends and family:

Be sure to watch for more information in the coming weeks regarding our Winter Kindness Shop and the Lincoln Homegrown for the Holidays trolley stop during the Melrose Home for the Holidays event.
