A Message from Assistant Principal Zaccaria
Get Involved: After-School Sports and Performances!
Middle school is an exciting time full of new experiences, and one of the best ways to make the most of it is by participating in—or coming to watch—after-school sports and performances. Whether it’s joining the basketball team, cheering on friends at a soccer game, or performing in the school play, getting involved helps students feel connected to their school community. It’s also a great opportunity for our 5th-grade students to get a glimpse of what middle school life is like.
Participation in these activities isn’t just about sports or the arts—it’s about building school spirit and creating memories that last a lifetime. Cheering for classmates, celebrating achievements, and working toward common goals fosters pride and a sense of belonging. These shared experiences often create bonds that extend beyond the school day, making middle school a more meaningful and fun place to be.
To make attending games and performances easier, we’ve created entrances by the courtyard near the outdoor turf. Please remind your students that the school is closed during these events, so everyone should stay in the designated rooms or areas.
Whether you love sports, music, drama, or simply want to be part of something bigger than yourself, there’s a place for you after school. Come be part of the excitement, show your school spirit, and make friendships that will last a lifetime!

Middle School Assembly Tomorrow
There will be a middle school assembly tomorrow, September 26 starting at 2:30 p.m. We kindly ask that you avoid an early pick up. However, if you must pick up your Middle School student early, please do so BEFORE 2:00 p.m.
Picking up after 2:00 p.m. may take longer for your student to be released as we must wait for a time that is appropriate to disrupt the assembly, then students must go to their locker before they come to the front office.
You can also let the Front Office know ahead of time by filling out the Early Release Form online.

BFA Middle School Dance Dress Code Guidelines
Dances at BFA are not formal events. While some students enjoy dressing up for the event, it is not required. Below are the guidelines for dance attire.
Dresses/Skirts/Shorts:
-Length must be no more than 4 inches above the knee.
-Slits in skirts must be no higher than 4 inches above the knee.
-Dresses should have a modest neckline and not fall below or show undergarments. The back of the dress must not dip below mid back or show undergarments.
-No exposed midriff even when hands are raised, and no cut outs on torso area (back, sides, stomach).
-No strapless dresses. Straps of any width are acceptable and there must be a strap on both shoulders.
-No dresses are permitted that are open or sheer on the front or sides of the dress, unless the area has solid material underneath.
Other guidelines:
-Clothes shall be modest, in good condition, neat in appearance, and meet appropriate length requirements as stated above.
-Students are not allowed to wear pajama items or clothing that contains wording or images that could be interpreted as racial, vulgar, disruptive or offensive in any way.
-No hats or sunglasses will be permitted.
Costumes worn for themed dances must follow all above stated guidelines and:
- Faces must be visible at all times
- No costumes that impede movement, making it difficult for the wearer to walk or would be a tripping hazard for others.
-No handheld props
Suggestions:
-Be aware of material that gathers and rises when you walk or dance. Clothing should be comfortable and able to stay in place during movement.
-Think carefully about shoes - many girls opt for cute tennis shoes as opposed to heels so they are more comfortable walking and dancing!
Admin and BFA staff will be checking your outfit before you enter the dance. If you do not follow the above guidelines, parents will be called to pick you up. While the adults do not enjoy having to do this, we are committed to enforcing these guidelines to ensure we are consistent in our expectations for all students.

Arapahoe High School
AHS is excited to announce the dates for our popular Shadow Day program. This is an incredible opportunity for current 8th grade students, as Shadow Days provide a unique perspective for future Warriors to experience the Arapahoe High School culture alongside current Warriors. We continue to encourage parents/guardians to participate in the day with their children. While students are observing classes, parents will have the opportunity to ask questions of our principal, Mrs. Natalie Pramenko, and take a tour of our building.
Shadow Days will take place on Sept. 23, Oct. 10, Oct. 23, and Nov. 11, with options for either a morning or an afternoon session. The capacity for each session is 60 students. Students may bring a maximum of one parent to the Shadow Day. The sign-up can be found on the Incoming Freshmen Page on the AHS Website. I have included a Save the Date Card as an attachment for your reference. Additionally, our Freshman Showcase will be on Oct. 29 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

BFA 13 Virtues
September's Virtues are...
Justice – Be respectful. Give everyone a chance to work or play. Give others a chance to express themselves. Share. Remember that others are counting on you, so live up to your duty.
Silence – There is a time and place to speak up and a time to listen. You learn more by listening than speaking.
