The Booster Club supports student athletes in grades 6-12 by providing financial assistance to middle and high school sports programs at CBCS and promoting school and community spirit. Support includes Homecoming, spirit wear, athlete scholarships, uniforms and equipment, and concessions. We rely solely on volunteers, donations and sponsorships (banner and individual/family). Please consider how you can
help!

PTA News
Student Directory
Do you remember getting a school directory so you could call your friend's house? The PTA maintains the school-wide directory to allow families to contact each other (playdates, birthday parties, carpooling, etc.). But you must opt-in to be listed! Once you are in the directory your information transfers over year after year so you only need to update it if your contact information changes--so easy! Being in the directory does not mean you have to be a PTA member or even receive our email newsletters (however, our emails are a great way to hear about upcoming events!). If you would like to be in our directory please president@crestedbuttepta.org and we can get your info listed! If you would like to access the directory, get the free app!
City Market Community Rewards
Did you know we raised over $5,000 in the 2023-2024 school year by community members opting in for the City Market Community Rewards program? This program donates a percentage of your purchases to the PTA without costing you anything. It's basically 'free money.' Sign up, and let's surpass that total this year!
How to sign up:
Log in or create an account
Search for Community Rewards
Search for the Crested Butte Community School PTA
Select Crested Butte Community School as your choice of organization to receive a % of your purchase
*This program does NOT take the place of gas rewards

Logistics
Student Pick-Up During the School Day
In an effort to alleviate disruptions to classroom learning, if you need to pick up your child during the school day, please do your best to utilize a passing period. We understand that this may not always be possible, but when it is, it really benefits our learning environment. Check the bell schedule HERE. Thanks for your help and support!
Attendance
Please email CBSSattendance@gunnisonschools.net if your student will be absent or needs to miss any classes. Per the student handbook, please note that students who are more than 25 minutes late to class without a call or email from a guardian will be marked as an unexcused absence for that period.
Powerschool
School Messenger: Text Messaging
Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages, straight to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts and more. You can participate in this service by sending a text message of "yes" to our school's short code number 67587. You can also opt out of these messages at any time by simply replying to one of the messages with "stop." SchoolMessenger is compliant with the Student Privacy Pledge, so you can rest assured that your information is safe and will never be given or sold to anyone.
Halo Smart Sensor Monitors
We take safety seriously at CBSS and we are committed to providing a safe, substance free school. The Halo Smart Sensor not only measures air quality (like CO2 and NO2), but can also detect nicotine and THC vapes. These tools are present to help us meet our goal of ensuring a substance free school. If you would like to have more information, or have questions, please contact the office to set up a meeting with Mr. McCune, or email him at smccune@gunnisonschools.net with your questions.
